경찰 소식통은 AFP와의 인터뷰에서 파리 검찰청 온라인 혐오 퇴치 국가 센터(National Centre for Combating Online Hate (PNLH) of the Paris prosecutor's office)는 8월5일 대인 범죄퇴치여단(BRDP: Brigade for Combating Crimes against the Person)에게 위협적인 죽음, 대인 범죄와 사이버 왕따 범죄를 유발하는 공공 도발 범죄에 대한 조사(to investigate the crimes of threatening death, public provocation to commit crimes against persons and cyber-bullying)를 요청하였다고 합니다.
경찰소식통에 따르면, Burrows단장의 고소장에서 그녀가 “소셜 네트워킹 사이트인 X와 페이스북을 경유하여”(via the social networking sites X and Facebook) 접수한 “협박과 모욕 내용을 담은 많은 메시지”(a number of messages containing threats and insults)에 대해 비판하였다고 합니다
메시지를 포스트 한 책임자들(Those responsible for the posts)은 최대 5년 징역과 45,000유로의 벌금에 직면할 수(could face up to five years in prison and a fine of €45,000) 있다고 합니다.
8월1일, IOC가 가진 기자회견에서 Burrows는 IOC의 안전스포츠단장(head of the IOC's Safe Sport Unit)의 역할을 설명하면서 “Paris2024올림픽이 올림픽이나 스포츠이벤트 역사상 가장 포괄적인 정신건강과 안전이니셔티브 패키지를 제공할 것”(the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will offer the most comprehensive package of mental health and safety initiatives of any Olympic or sporting event in history)이라고 주목 시켜 주었다고 합니다.
