“선수들과 프랑스국민들 그리고 전세계의 모든 팬들은 올림픽과 사랑에 빠져 있으며 서로서로를 사랑하고 있음. 경기장에서 거리에서, 올림픽 선수촌에서, 여러분은 모든 사람이 함께 나누고 있는 열정을 느낄 수 있고, 체험해 볼 수 있으며 볼 수 있음”(The athletes, the French people and the fans all around the world are in love with the Games, and with each other. In the venues, in the streets of Paris at the Olympic Village, you can feel and experience and see the enthusiasm, which is shared by everyone.)

“우리 모두는 프랑스와 프랑스국민들이 이번 올림픽을 자신들의 가슴에 어떻게 새기고 애지중지하는지 목도해 왔음. 그것은 침착한 대회 조직 일뿐만 아니라 친근함과 응대와 호기심과 관심이 마음에서 우러나오는 축제였음. 이번 파리올림픽은 보기에도 마음을 진정으로 훈훈하게 해 주며, 여러분은 수십 만명, 아니 수백 만명의 프랑스국민들이 파리의 거리와 경기장 모든 곳에서 인산인해를 이루었음”(We have all seen the way that France and the French people have taken these Games really to their hearts. It was not just a sober organization, it was a celebration coming from the heart, with all the friendliness, the hospitality, the curiosity, the interest was really heart-warming to see, and you could see hundreds of thousands, millions of the French people on the streets of Paris and full stadia everywhere.)

Bach IOC위원장은 선수들과 Tokyo2020에서 코로나19로 인해 놓치고 있던 팬들과의 사이에 괄목할만한 연결고리에 대하여 언급하였다고 합니다:

그는 Paris2024올림픽조직위원회 관계자들의 훌륭한 업무 진행과 프랑스국회에서 특히 다수당이 없는 때임에도 모든 관련 부처 장관들도 잔존하고 있을 뿐이었지만(in a time when there is no majority party in the National Assembly and all of the ministers were holdovers) 지방과 지역, 그리고 중앙정부들의 끈끈한 지원에 대하여 감사의 뜻을 표명(also grateful to the excellent work of the Paris 2024 organizers and the support of the local, regional and national governments) 하였다고 합니다:

“대회 계획과 모든 우리의 가치와 우리의 사명을 초기단계부터 그 모든 것을 함께 공유해 온 파트너로서의 조직위원회가 없었다면 이 모든 업적은 성취 불가 하였을 것임. 내 동료 올림피언인 Tony Estanguet의 위대한 지도력 하에서 위대한 작업을 성취해 낸 조직위원회관계자 여러분께는 무어라 감사해야 할지 모르겠음”(All these achievements would not have been possible without an organizing committee as a partner who fully shares, and shared from the very beginning of their planning, all our values, our mission and our values. And therefore, I cannot thank enough the organizing committee under the great leadership of my fellow Olympian Tony Estanguet for the great work. …)

“프랑스 대통령을 시작으로 모든 레벨의 공공 당국과 공공서비스 종사자들, 많은 시당국 관계자 및 공공서비스 제공 종사자들 등 전체 프랑스 모든 부문 종사자 모두에게도 마찬가지임”(This is also true for the public authorities, the public services here at all levels here in France, starting from the President of the Republic, to the many municipal authorities and services, all over France.)
향후 올림픽과 2028년 LA올림픽에 기대되는 바에 대한 질문에 대하여 Bach IOC위원장은 다음과 같이 강조하였다고 합니다:
“자신들의 방식으로 연관된 조치를 적절히 배합하는 것은 대회를 준비하는 조직위원회에 달려 있음. 도시 풍을 더 가미하는 것에 관해 말하자면, LA는 도시의 구조 때문에 다른 접근방식을 취해야 할 것임. LA에는 여러분이 Paris에 이곳저곳에 있는 아이콘과 같은 두드러진 특징 물 등이 LA도심 센터에는 없음”(It’s up to each organizing committee to adapt the relevant measures in their way. … When it comes to more urban, then L.A. must, because of the structure of the city, take a different approach. You don’t have city centers in L.A. with iconic landmarks as you have here in Paris …)
“올림픽 마다 차별화가 있어야 함. 만일 LA가 에펠 탑을 복사하고 싶다면 그것은 재앙의 레시피가 될 것임. 매 올림픽은 진정성이 있어야 하며 창조적이고 개최국과 개최도시의 문화를 보여줌으로 이것을 전세계에 개방해야 함”(Each edition of the Games has to be different. If L.A. would like to copy the Eiffel Tower, it would be a recipe for disaster. Each Olympic Games have to be authentic and have to be creative and have to show the culture of the host country, the host city and to be open to share this with the world.)
Bach IOC위원장은 올림픽개최 전의 모든 걱정거리에 대한 질문을 받고 나서 “그러한 이벤트가 개최되기 전, 많은 걱정거리를 가지고 있는 많은 사람들이 있고 그들은 이쪽의 위험, 저쪽의 위험에 대해 생각을 하게 되는 것이 인지상정 임. 하지만 이론보다는 증거인 것임”(It is human that before such an event is taking place, that there are many people who have many concerns and they think about kind of risks here and risks there. But the proof is in the pudding.)

Bach IOC위원장은 Paris 2024올림픽이 좀더 잘 조직될 수 있었던 분야가 무엇이냐는 질문에 대한 대답으로(also asked about what Paris 2024 could have done better) “이것은 심각한 질문이 아님”(This is not a serious question)이라고 일축하였다(Case closed)고 합니다.
