[미국(USOC)에 이어 일본(JOC)도 올림픽위원회(NOC)위원장사퇴가능성에 따른 교체후보 2인 거론 배경 스케치]

Tsunekazu Takeda일본올림픽위원회(JOC)위원장이 최근(2월16일) 부패혐의로 인해 위원장역할로부터 벗어날 것을 요구하는 압력에 직면하고(facing pressure to step aside from the role over allegations of corruption) 있다고 주장하고 있는 것으로 외신이 보도하였습니다.

Takeda JOC위원장은 현재 Tokyo2020올림픽유치성공관련 매표스캔들의혹 연루 중심에(currently at the centre of an alleged vote-buying scandal) 있다고 합니다

덕망 있고 영향력 있는 IOC위원으로 간주되고 있는 Takeda JOC위원장은 2018년 12월 프랑스에서 부패혐의로 기소된(indicted on corruption charges in France) 바 있습니다.

그는 Tokyo2020개최권확보를 돕기 위해 뇌물지불을 승인하였다는 혐의를 받고(suspected of authorising the payment of bribes) 있는 상황입니다

그는 잘못을 부인하고 있으며 Black Tidings대행업체에게 건 낸 것으로 알려진 US$2백만 불(약 24억원)지불과 관련 결정과정에 관여한 바가 결단코 없다고("never involved in any decision-making process") 주장하고 있다고 합니다.

Tokyo2020조직위원회 집행부 일원으로 활동하고 있는 Takeda IOC위원은 스캔들의혹이 제기된 후 자신의 직위에 대해 면밀한 조사를 받고 있는 것으로 보인다(seen his positions come under scrutiny following the allegations)고 합니다

부패혐의 케이스에 연루된 다른 IOC위원들의 경우와는 달리, Takeda IOC위원은 지금껏 자가 자격정지 또는 JOC위원장 사퇴제안을 하지 않고(so far not self-suspended himself or offered to step down as President of the JOC) 있다고 합니다

Tokyo2020조직위원회 Toshirō Mutō사무총장(CEO)이 2월초 Takeda가 JOC위원장사퇴할 이유가 없는 것으로 알고 있다고 주장함으로써 Takeda는 지원사격을 받은 바(received backing from Tokyo 2020 chief executive Toshirō Mutō) 있다고 합니다

JOC는 금년 6월 또는 7월 중 JOC집행부 선거가 치러질 예정이라고 합니다.

일본 Kyodo News통신에 따르면 Takeda에 대한 조사로 인해 JOC위원장 자리 고수자체가 어려워질 우려가(concerns the investigation into Takeda will make it difficult for him to remain as JOC President) 있다고 보도하였다고 합니다.

Takeda를 교체할 가능한 후보로Yasuhiro Yamashita일본유도연맹회장이 거론되고 있으며 교체될 경우 Takeda는 명예위원장 직을 맡게 될 것(touted as a possible replacement for Takeda, who could then take an honorary President title)이라는 주장이 제기되고 있다고 합니다

Yasuhiro Yamashita(61세)는 Montreal1976올림픽 무제한 급 (open division)금메달리스트였으며 세계유도선수권대회 4관왕으로 전설적인 명성을 자랑하고 있다고 합니다

Yamashita 는 평창2018 동계올림픽 일본선수단 부단장 직을 역임하였다고 합니다

일본빙상경기연맹회장인 Seiko Hashimoto(54세) 역시 Takeda JOC위원장 교체 대상 잠재후보로 거론되고 있다(touted as a potential successor)고 보도되고 있습니다.

Seiko Hashimoto는 일본국가대표선수들 중 가장 많은 올림픽출전 경력이 있는데(the most Olympic appearance of any Japanese athlete) 그녀는 Sarajevo1984부터 Lillehammer1994 동계올림픽까지 4회 연속 일본올림픽대표 빙상선수였으며 Seoul1988부터 Atlanta1996올림픽까지 3연속 올림픽 일본국가대표사이클 선수로 올림픽에 출전한 바 있다고 합니다

그녀는 Albertville1992동계올림픽 1,500m 여자 스피드스케이팅종목에서 동메달을 획득하였으며 동계아시안게임에서는 6개의 금메달을 땄다고 합니다.

Hashimoto는 Rio2016올림픽에서 최초의 여성출신 일본대표선수단장을 역임함으로 신기원을 이룩하기도(made history) 했다고 합니다.

그녀는 현재 자민당 출신 일본 참의원 멤버(currently a member of the House of Councillors from the Liberal Democratic Party)라고 합니다

Takeda(71세)는 2001년부터 JOC위원장 직을 맡아 왔으며 현재 10선 위원장으로 재직 중(currently serving his 10th term as President of the organisation )이라고 합니다.

Takeda는 의혹이 불거져 나온 이래 수 차례 사과를 표명한 바(offered several apologies since the allegations emerged) 있다고 합니다.

그는 2월15일 Tokyo2020조직위원회 집행위원회회의석상에서 심려를 끼친 데 대하여 사과하였다(apologised to the Tokyo 2020 Executive Board for "causing worry")고 보도되기도 하였습니다.

Takeda는 Prince Tsuneyoshi Takeda황태자의 3남으로 태어났으며 1867년부터 서거 년도인1912년까지 일본을 통치한(ruled Japan from 1867 until his death in 1912) Emperor Meiji천황의 증손자라고 합니다

그는 2014년 이래 IOC미케팅 분과위원장을 맡아 왔으며, 2017년에는 2018년 70세지만 연령제한면제승인을 받아 IOC위원 직을 4년연장 (granted an age limit exemption to remain a member beyond his 70th birthday last year)받기도 하였습니다. 

다시 말해서 그는 Tokyo2020올림픽이후에도 IOC위원으로 연장(2019~2022) 활동하게 될 것임을 의미합니다.

It consisted of: MPC1 (500 seating capacity) with convenience facilities including cafeteria, café, laundry room and Policlinic; MPC2, the main conference room (500 seats) where press conferences chaired by the IOC were held; and MPC3 where each of 33 newspapers from around the world such as AP, Reuters and the New York Times opened its own booth.

(영문)A total of 179 press conferences during the games-time (an average of 7-8 a day) were held in a large (500 seats), live streaming enabled press conference room and three small and medium-sized conference rooms. Among such events were the Opening Ceremony briefing with the president and CEO of POCOG, press briefings with the president of the IOC, press briefings with the president of IPC, daily briefings and pre-briefings with each National Olympic Committee (NOC) and medallists’ press conferences. Press conferences with medallists such as Chloe Kim, Shaun White and YUN Sung-bin and the teams of popular disciplines allowed the rest of the world to vividly enjoy every moment of the Games.

(영문)The IBC was the key broadcasting facility for production and broadcasting that provided Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) and Rights Holding Broadcasters (RHBs) a reliable and optimal environment. The news from the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games written by journalists from different countries were transmitted to the rest of the world through 97 news agencies from 58 countries and 111 broadcasting companies from 31 countries.

In the IBC, POCOG showcased a variety of new IT (information technology) services such as 5G, UHD, guide robots and carbon money.
