*평창2018동계올림픽개회식(Opening Ceremony of Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018/Cérémonie d’ouverture des Jeux Paralympiques d’hiver de PyeongChang 2018)
2018년 2월 9일 오후 8시, 평창 올림픽 스타디움 대형 스크린이 오대산 상원사 동종을 비추자 상 속 종이 올림픽 스타디움 한가운데서 솟아올랐다. 곧이어 시작된 카운트다운. 숫자가 0으로 바뀌는 순간, 맑고 웅장한 종소리가 울려 퍼지며 2018 평창올림픽의 시작을 알렸다.
(영문) At 8pm on 9 Feb 2018, immediately after its appearance in the large electronic screen in the PyeongChang Olympic Stadium, the bronze bell of Sangwonsa Temple of Odaesan Mountain was raised from the underground floor to appear at the centre stage of the stadium, triggering the countdown. When it reached zero, a clean, sonorous sound of the bell reverberated in the stadium signalling the start of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
(불문) À 20h le 9 février 2018, juste après son apparition sur l’écran géant du stade olympique de PyeongChang, la cloche en bronze du temple Sangwonsa dans la montagne Odaesan s’est élevée du sous-sol pour apparaître au centre de la scène, déclenchant le compte à rebours. Une fois le zéro atteint, le son clair de la cloche a retenti et résonné dans tout le stade pour annoncer le début des Jeux Olympiques d’hiver de PyeongChang 2018.
개회식 무대는 강원도에 사는 다섯 아이들이 지도를 발견하고 모험을 떠나는 판타지로 시작됐다.
(영문) The first stage illustrated a fantasy where five kids living in Gangwon Province kick off their adventurous journey after discovering a hidden map.

아이들은 신비한 동굴에서 평화의 땅을 발견했다. 신화 속에 등장하는 신비로운 동물들과 고분벽화 속 여인들도 등장해 아이들과 어울려 춤을 추었고, 다섯 아이가 건국신화에 등장하는 웅녀와 함께 평화를 기원하자 반딧불이처럼 반짝이는 무수한 빛들이 하늘로 올라가 거대한 천문도(조선시대 천상열차분야지도)의 별자리를 만들었다.
(영문) It led them to a mysterious cave where they later found the land of peace. Legendary animals from the ancient myths and women from the ancient mural on the wall came alive and danced with the kids. Among them was Ung-nyeo, a character from the creation myth of Korea, [translated into a ‘bear woman’ or a ‘bear who became a woman’ in English]. The kids joined her in prayer for peace and saw their prayers becoming the myriad points of light. Glowing like fireflies, the lights ascended to heaven to form Cheonsang Yeolcha Bunyajido (The Chart of the Constellations and the Regions) from the Joseon Dynasty in the sky.

Des animaux légendaires de mythes anciens et des femmes d’une fresque ancienne sur un mur prennent vie pour danser avec les enfants. Parmi eux, Ung-nyeo, un personnage du mythe créateur de la Corée (traduit par « femme ourse » ou « ourse qui se transforme en femme »). Les enfants la rejoignent pour prier pour la paix et voient leurs prières devenir une myriade de points lumineux. Luisants comme des lucioles, les lumières s’élèvent vers le paradis pour former dans le ciel le Cheonsang Yeolcha Bunyajido (la Carte des constellations et des régions) de la dynastie Joseon.
문재인 대통령과 토마스 바흐Thomas Bach IOC 위원장, 각국 국가원수 등 귀빈 입장에 이어 한국 전통 타악기인 장 구 연주와 장구춤 공연이 펼쳐졌다.
(영문) As President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea, IOC president Thomas Bach, heads of state and other distinguished guests entered the stadium, Janggo (traditional Korean drum) performance combined with Janggo dance began.

(영문) The energy of Taegeuk, which symbolises the harmony of yin and yang was translated into rhythmical music and dance. The dynamic performance reached its peak and the drum beats finally ended. Suddenly, a huge Taegeuk shape in red and blue was formatted at the centre stage, creating a breath-taking scene.

Puis la performance dynamique atteint son apogée et le battement du tambour s’arrête. Soudain, un immense Taegeuk rouge et bleu se forme sur le centre de la scène, créant une scène à couper le souffle.
한국 전통문화와 첨단 ICT 기술이 결합된 개회식 공연은 한편의 판타지 영화를 보는 듯한 환상적인 무대의 연속이었다. 미디어아트로 천문도를 그려내고, 관중석에 설치된 LED 패널을 활용한 빛의 연출이 이어지자 관람객들의 환호성이 터져 나왔다.
(영문) Stage after stage, the Opening Ceremonies presented mater-piece performances that converged Korea’s traditional culture and its state-of-the-art ICT technology. It was as if a piece of well-made fantasy movie had come true. The chart of constellations and the regions formed by Media Art and the following light show using LED panels drew loud cheer from the awestruck audience.

미디어아트 등 첨단 ICT 기술을 바탕으로 전통문화와 현대적 문화역량을 융합한 개회식이 펼쳐졌다. 송승환 총감독은 인터뷰에서 “‘조화’와 ‘융합’을 콘셉트로 ‘열정’과 ‘평화’를 표현했다”고 설명하고, “개회식은 출연자 1300명, 스태프 2000여 명, 자원봉사자 1000여 명이 함께 만든 작품”이라고 말했다.
(영문) In the unfolded Opening Ceremony, Korea’s traditional culture and contemporary cultural potentials were converged with the cutting-edge ICT technology such as Media Art. Indeed, Executive creative director SONG Seung-whan said that through the concept of Convergence and Harmony expressed were Passion and Peace. He also mentioned that the Opening Ceremony was an elaborate piece of work jointly prepared by 1,300 members of cast, 2000 staff members, and 1000 volunteers.

개회식 공연이 끝나고 개최국 대한민국의 국기인 태극기가 입장했다. 태극기 게양과 애국가 제창에 이어 2018 평창동계올림픽에 출전한 선수단 입장이 시작됐다.
(영문) Following the performances, entered Taegeukgi, the national flag of the host country, the Republic of Korea. As the flag was hoisted and the national anthem was played, parade of athletes participating in the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 started.

흥겨운 K-POP 음악을 배경으로 올림픽 전통에 따라 그리스가 맨 처음 평창 올림픽 스타디움에 들어섰고, 이어서 세계 각국 선수단이 알파벳 순서가 아닌 한글자음 순서대로 입장했다.
(영문) With the cheerful K-Pop music in the background and as per the Olympic tradition, the parade was led by Greece, followed by the other countries, which entered in alphabetical order according to the Korean alphabet, not the English alphabet..
(불문) Avec de la musique Kpop entraînante en fond sonore et selon la tradition olympique, la parade était menée par la Grèce, suivie par les autres pays selon l’ordre alphabétique coréen et non anglais.
마지막 순서는 개최국인 대한민국과 북측 선수단의 공동 입장. 북측은 이번 대회에 피겨 스케이팅을 포함한 5개 종목에 선수 22명, 임원 24명 등 총 46명의 선수단을 파견했다. 남북한선수들은 아리랑의 선율이 흐르는 가운데 흰색 바탕에 하늘색 한반도 지도가 그려진 깃발 아래 함께 걸어 들어왔다.
(영문) Its Finale was brought by the joint march of ROK delegations and that of DPRK. The North sent total of 46 participants including 22 athletes and 24 officials for five events. Athletes and officials from the two Koreas marched together under the unification flag showing the map of Korean peninsula in sky blue at the centre of the white background. The beautiful melody of Arirang resonated in the stadium during the joint march

문재인 대통령의 개회선언에 이어 연단에 올라선 이희범 조직위 위원장은 개회사에서 “스포츠는 분쟁과 갈등을 넘어 화합과 평화를 이뤄내는 힘을 가지고 있다”고 힘주어 말했다.
(영문) The Opening of the Games declared by ROK President Moon came next, followed by POCOG President LEE Hee-beom’s official speech. In his remark, Lee emphasised that “Sport has a great power to bring together the world in harmony and peace transcending disputes and conflicts.”

“안녕하세요, 평창”이라는 한국어로 개회사를 시작한 토마스 바흐 IOC 위원장은 “화합의 힘을 보여주는 가장 좋은 예는 오늘 남북한 선수들의 공동 입장”이라고 높이 평가했다. 바흐 위원장은 연설 도중 한국말로 “자원봉사자 여러분 감사합니다”라고 감사 인사를 보내 뜨거운 박수를 받기도 했다.
(영문) Meanwhile, IOC President Thomas Bach, when invited to the podium, started his speech with greetings in Korean, ‘Annyeonghaseyo, PyeongChang [translated into ‘hello, PyeongChang’ in English]’. He highly evaluated the joint march of the two Koreas, saying that it is ‘a great example of unifying power’. While at the podium, he also thanked volunteers in Korean, ‘Jawonbongsaja Yeoreobun, Gamsahamnida [translated into ‘thank you, volunteers‘ in English]’, which drew a loud applause from the audience.

(영문) After ROK President MOON Jae-in declared the Games open and official speeches were delivered, the five kids approached people to pass lit candles.

무대 한가운데서 ‘평화의 노래’인 존 레논의 「이매진(Imagine)」이 흘러 나오자 가수 전인권, 안지, 하현우, 이은미가 「이매진」을 한 소절씩 부르며 평화의 메시지를 전달했다. 다섯 아이는 평화를 염원하는 마음을 풍선 비둘기에 담아 평창의 하늘로 날려 보냈다.
(영문) Meanwhile, John Lennon’s Imagine, introduced as the song of peace, was played at the centre stage and four singers (JEON In-kwon, AN Ji-yeong, HA Hyun-woo, LEE Eun-mi) sang the song in turn relaying the message of peace. In response, the five kids released a balloon dove filled with aspiration for peace to the sky of PyeongChang.
(불문) Alors qu’Imagine de John Lennon, chanson emblématique de la paix, était jouée sur la scène centrale et chantée à tour de rôle par quatre chanteurs (JEON In-kwon, AN Ji-yeong, HA Hyun-woo et LEE Eun-mi) pour relayer le message de paix. En réponse, les cinq enfants ont relâché dans le ciel de PyeongChang un ballon en forme de colombe rempli de l’aspiration pour la paix.
2018 평창올림픽 개회식에는 그 동안 어떤 올림픽에서도 볼 수 없었던 특별한 오륜기가 등장했다. 1218대의 드론이 모여 오륜 모양을 이루는 장관이 펼쳐졌다. TV를 통해 드론 쇼를 본 전 세계 시청자들이 컴퓨터 그래픽으로 착각했을 만큼 엄청난 규모와 정교한 연출로 화제가 됐다.
(영문) Another magnificent scene in the Opening Ceremony came from the special Olympic rings performance never seen in the Olympic history; 1218 flying drones forming gigantic rings in the sky. The huge-scale performance was so grand and sophisticated as to be mistaken as a computer graphic show by many viewers watching it on TV, becoming a worldwide sensation.
(불문) Une autre scène magnifique de la cérémonie d’ouverture a été la performance spéciale des anneaux olympiques: 1,218 drones formant des anneaux gigantesques dans le ciel, un spectacle encore jamais vu dans l’histoire olympique. (영문) Meanwhile, the Olympic Flame that made it to the Olympic Stadium was ready for the final straight. Having been carried by star sports players of the Republic of Korea, the Flame was handed over to the captains of Unified Women’s Ice Hockey Team of the two Koreas, Chung Su-hyon of North Korea and Park Jong-ah of South Korea. Symbolising harmony brought by sports, two athletes walked up the steep stairs together with the torch in their hands to reach the Cauldron lighting stage.

성화를 기다리던 마지막 주자는 흰색 드레스를 입은 ‘피겨 여왕’ 김연아다. 2018 평창동계올림픽 유치부터 홍보에 힘을 보탠 2010 밴쿠버올림픽 피겨 스케이팅 여자 싱글 금메달리스트 김연아는 성화대 옆에 마련된 작은 아이스링크에서 우아한 스케이팅을 선보인 뒤 성화봉을 넘겨받아 불을 붙였다. 세계의 주요언론들은 그 장면을 ‘세상에서 가장 우아한 성화 점화’라고 표현했다.
(영문) It was the moment when the last torchbearer was finally unveiled; there stood Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games gold medallist, the Queen of figure skating, KIM Yuna in elegant white dress. Since its bidding stage, KIM Yuna had been a tremendous help for the promotion of PyeongChang 2018. Having performed a beautiful figure skating routine in the small ice rink in front of the Cauldron, she took the Olympic Flame for lighting, which was hailed as the most elegant lighting of the Cauldron in the world by major international media and press.

Sur la scène se tenait la médaillée d’or des Jeux Olympiques d’hiver de Vancouver 2010, la reine du patinage artistique, KIM Yuna, dans une élégante robe blanche. 성화의 불꽃은 1988 서울올림픽에 등장했던 굴렁쇠와 한국에서 열리는 30년만의 올림픽을 상징하는 30개의 고리를 타고 솟아올랐고, 한국의 미를 상징하는 백자 달항아리 모양을 본떠 만든 성화대에 불이 붙었다.
(영문) The Flame ascended to the top of the Cauldron with the 30 ascending rings that signify the 30 years in-between the Olympic Games hosted by Korea for the first time and PyeongChang 2018. The rings also represented the iron hoop that made its impressive appearance in Seoul 1988. The Cauldron, which resembled a moon-shaped white porcelain to represent the beauty of Korea, was eventually lit by the Olympic Flame that was turned into the flame of peace. It blazed ever so brightly in the stadium.
(불문) La flamme s’est élevée vers le sommet du chaudron grâce aux 30 anneaux qui symbolisent les 30 années entre les Jeux olympiques organisés pour la première fois par la Corée et PyeongChang 2018. Ces anneaux représentent également le cerceau de fer qui avait fait une apparition remarquée à Séoul 1988. Le chaudron, une forme de lune en porcelaine blanche pour incarner la beauté de la Corée, a finalement été enflammé par la flamme olympique, devenue flamme de la paix et irradiant le stade entier.
