[Bach IOC위원장, 프랑스 IOC위원 Guy Drut의 견해는 IOC를 대표하지 않는다고 코멘트]
Thomas Bach IOC위원장은 Montreal1976올림픽 금메달리스트(육상 110m 허들종목) 출신인 Guy Drut프랑스 IOC위원(프랑스체육부장관 역임/73세)이 프랑스 총선에서 우파와 극우파 연합에게 투표할 것(he would vote for a coalition of the right and the far right in the French legislative elections)이라고 언급한 코멘트에 대하여 견해를 밝혔다고 합니다.

6월30일 및 7월7일로 예정된 프랑스 총선 1-2차 투표에 대하여 언급한 코멘트가 올림픽운동조직 내 파문을 일으킨(caused a stir within the Olympic movement) Guy Drut 프랑스 IOC위원의 코멘트에 대한 Bach IOC위원장의 견해를 요청했다고 합니다.
Paris 2024조직위원회 당연 직 행정 팀 일원(part of the administrative team of the Paris 2024 organising committee)이기도 한Guy Drut 프랑스 IOC위원은 “본인은 우파 연합과 극우파 정당(RN: National Rally)연맹을 지지함”(I support the union of the right and the alliance with the National Rally (RN))이라고 프랑스 유력 일간지인 Le Monde와 6월18일(화)자 인터뷰에서 소신을 밝혔다고 합니다.
이에 대하여 Bach IOC위원장은 6월20일(목)은 Guy Drut IOC위원과 거리를 두면서 “그의 발언은 개인적 견해이며 IOC와 논의하거나 소통 한 바 없었음”(It is a personal opinion that has not been discussed or communicated to the IOC)이라고 6월20일 기자회견에서 입장을 정리하면서 “그는 IOC를 대신하여 견해를 밝히는 입장이 아님”(He does not speak on behalf of anyone else in the IOC) “우리는 전세계에서 가장 유구한 전통을 지닌 민주주의를 표방한 국가들 중 하나인 프랑스의 민주 시스템에 전폭적인 신뢰를 견지하고 있음. 따라서 우리는 프랑스인들이 선출하는 그 어떤 정부와도 협업할 것임”(We have full confidence in the French democratic system, one of the oldest democracies in the world, and therefore we will work with whatever government the French elect)이라고 덧붙였다고 합니다.
이러한 맥락에서 보면 Guy Drut는 극우파 정부가 선출이 되더라고 올림픽을 망치지 않을 것(the election of a far-right government would not disrupt the Olympic Games)이라고 믿고 있는 듯합니다.
Guy Drut는 6월18일(화) Le Monde지와의 인터뷰에서 “올림픽은 순조롭게 진행될 것임. Munich1972올림픽에 대한 <테러>공격에도 올림픽이 계속 진행되었음”(The Olympic Games will go well. The Munich attacks in 1972 did not prevent the games from going ahead)이라고 회상하면서 “올림픽이RN정부와 같이 하면 잘못될 것이라는 이유는 없는 것임”(There is no reason why they should go badly with an RN government.)이라고 견해를 밝혔다고 합니다.
이와 관련하여 Macron대통령의 프랑스 현 정부 각료인 Amélie Oudéa-Castéra체육, 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 담당 장관으로부터 그녀의 SNS를 통해 즉각적인 반응이 나왔는데 그녀는 “정말 치욕스러운 심정 임. RN극우파의 새로운 조직원들이 바로 Guy Drut와 똑 같은 닮은 꼴 임; 전체가 모순 덩어리이며 지리 멸멸 상태임”(What a disgrace. The new recruits of the RN are just like him: all inconsistency and incoherence)라고 공격하였다고 합니다.
