[Tokyo2020올림픽 및 패럴림픽 대회 자원봉사자 18만 명 신청쇄도 열풍 스케치]

2018년 12월27일 자 한 외신 보도에 따르면Tokyo 2020 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 자원봉사자 지원 수가 18만 명이 넘는 신청서를 접수하였다(received more than 180,000 applications to be volunteers for the Olympic and Paralympic Games) 고 Tokyo2020조직위원회가 확인하였다고 합니다.

The Japan Times지는 12월 하순 16만 명을 상회하는 인파가 자원봉사자 프로그램에 신청하였다고 보도하였으며 조직위원회 관계자들은 실제 수(actual figure)는 18만 6,101명이라고 보도자료를 배포하였다고 합니다.

실제로 Tokyo2020대회의 자원봉사자 목표 인원수(targeted number)는 8만 명으로 보도되었는데 신청자 수는 요구되는 인원보다 2배가 넘는 수치(well over double the number required)라고 합니다

신청창구는 2018년 12월21일 마감되었다(The application window closed on December 21)고 합니다.

다음은 Toshiro Muto Tokyo2020조직위원회 사무총장(CEO)의 발언 내용입니다:

A.  “We are pleased to have received so many applications.” (우리는 그렇게 많은 수의 신청이 접수된 것에 대하여 기쁨)

B.  “We appreciate applicants’ understanding of the purpose of the volunteer programme and of our Tokyo 2020 vision, and will be providing various programmes as part of the orientation and training process to support and engage them before, during and after the Games.” (우리는 신청자들의 자원봉사자 프로그램의 목적과 Tokyp2020의 비전에 대하여 이해도가 높은 것에 감사하며 대회 이전과 대회기간 동안 그리고 대회 이후에 그들을 지원하고 참여시키기 위한 오리엔테이션 및 훈련 과정의 일환으로 다양한 프로그램을 제공할 것임)

Tokyo2020조직위원회에 의하면, 자원봉사자 신청자들 중 63%가 여성지원자들이며 연령대는 10대에서 80대까지 분포(with ages ranging from teenagers to those in their 80’s)한다고 합니다.

일본 내국인 지원자 비율 역시 63%에 달하며 나머지 37%는 외국인 신청자(37 percent of the applicants are non-Japanese)라고 합니다.

일본 내 거주하는 신청자들에 대한 면접(interviews)과 “오리엔테이션 모임”(orientation sessions)은 2019년 2월에 시작되는데 전반적인 일반 훈련은 2019년 10월에 시작될 것(with general training beginning in October 2019)이라고 합니다.

심사에 통과한 해외거주 신청자들에 대한 오리엔테이션(orientation for successful overseas applicants)은 화상회의를 통해 오는 2019년 3월~7월 실시될 것(take place via video call from March to July)이라고 합니다.

Tokyo2020올림픽 및 패럴림픽 자원봉사자들 중 시각장애인들의 신청은 아직 끝나지 않았다(Applications are still open however, for those with a visual impairment)고 합니다.

이들에 대한 신청마감은 2019년 1월18일 오후 5시(일본 시간)이라고(close at 5pm Japanese time on January 18) 합니다.
