[인도네시아 Bali개최 G20 Summit정상회담에서 Bach IOC위원장, 인도네시아 Nusantara 2036 올림픽유치대열합류 환영하다(G20국가들 중 8개국이 유치 희망)]

IOC는 인도네시아의 새로운 수도로 현재 건설 중인 Nusantara를 2036년 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 유치 후보도 고려하고 있다는 소식입니다

Thomas Bach IOC위원장은 Bali G20정상회담 언저리에서(on the sidelines0 세계정상지도자들에게 연설하면서 그들에게 스포츠와 정치를 분리함으로(by keeping sport and politics separate) “평화가 제 몫을 하도록 기회를 줍시다”(give peace a chance)라고 호소하고 있는 Bali에서 걸음마 단계에 있는(fledgling) 인도네시아 올림픽 유치에 대하여 확인한 것입니다.

Bach IOC위원장은 또한 8개의 G20소속국가들이 이르면 2036년 올림픽부터 시작해서 향후 올림픽유치에 이미 관심을 선언하였다고 발표하였다고 합니다.

Bach IOC위원장은 “IOC가 인도네시아가 새로운 수도 Nusantara에서의 2036년올림픽 및 패럴림픽 개최를 위한 준비태세에 대하여 환영함”(The IOC warmly welcomes the readiness of Indonesia to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2036 in the new capital of Indonesia Nusantara) “Nusantara 프로젝트와 진척 성과에 대한 프레젠테이션을 지켜 보고나니 인도네시아 Joko 대통령이 이 새로운 도시를 지속 가능한 생활 터전의 모델로 개발하려는 비전에 대하여 깊이 감명 받게 되었음”(Having seen a presentation of the Nusantara project and the progress already achieved, I am deeply impressed by the vision of [Indonesian] President [Joko] Widodo to develop this city as a model for sustainable living, with a special emphasis on health and sport.)이라고 소견을 밝혔습니다.

IOC가 11월16일 자로 성명서를 발표하였는데 IOC의 미래올림픽유치위원회(FUC: Future Host Commission)가 Erick Thohir 인도네시아 IOC위원과 Raja Sapta Oktohari인도네시아올림픽위원회 위원장을 통하여 인도네시아유치관계자들과 즉각적으로 소통을 시작하여(will immediately reach out to bid officials )IOC가 현재 진행 중인 관심 표명 유치도시들과의 대화 과정의 일환으로 논의에 착수할 것임(will immediately reach out to bid officials)을 시사하였다고 합니다.

G20정상회담의장 역할을 맡고 있는 Widodo인도네시아 대통령은 Bach IOC위원장의 이러한 연설내용에 대하여 반응하면서”인도네시아는 지상최대의 스포츠이벤트인 2036년 올림픽을 개최할 준비가 되어 있음”(Indonesia is ready to host the biggest sporting event in the world, the Olympics in 2036) “본인은 Bach IOC위원장에게 인도네시아의 Nusantara수도에서 2036년 올림픽을 개최할 준비태세에 대하여 메시지를 전달하였음”(I conveyed [to Bach] Indonesia’s readiness to host the Olympics 2036 at the Nusantara Capital City)이라고 적극 행보를 보였다고 합니다.

인도네시아 대통령은 교통체증과 오염으로 몸살을 앓고 있으며 문자 그대로 식수 채취로 인해 지반이 가라앉고 있어 홍수에 취약한 자카르타에 대한 과중한 압력을 경감시키기 위하여(to reduce pressure on overloaded Jakarta that is struggling with heavy traffic, pollution and is literally sinking into the ground due to the extraction of drinking water – causing the city to be prone to flooding) 2017년에 새로운 수도 건설을 제안한 바 있다고 합니다.

이러한 새로운 수도건설계획은 2021년에 승인되었으며 이 지역 토지 수용 점유는 2024년에 시작될 것으로 예상(occupancy is expected to begin in 202)됩니다

Nusantara는 Borneo섬 동쪽 해안에 위치하고 있는데 현재 East Kalimantan주에 소속되어 있다고 합니다.

이 지역을 인도네시아의 보다 중심지역으로 간주되고 있으며 지진이나 화산폭발 등의 위협에서 벗어난 지역 안에(in a region that is not threatened by earthquakes or volcanoes)있다고 합니다

인도네시아는 향후 올림픽유치에 관심이 있는 국가군에 합류하고 있으며 지난 10월 Christophe de Kepper IOC사무총장은 10개 정도의 국가올림픽위원회들이 올림픽개최에 따른 “매우 다른 단계의 논의”과정에 관여되어(involved in “very different stages” of discussions around hosting) 있다고 언급하였습니다.

2036년 올림픽유치대열에 선 국가들로는 인도네시아를 포함하여 인도-영국-튀르키예-이집트-카타르-한국-멕시코-독일 등이라고 합니다  

2036년올림픽개최도시는 2025년 임기가 종료되는 Bach IOC위원장의 임기 내에 선출되지는 않을 것으로 예상되고(not expected to be elected until after current IOC President Bach’s term ends in 2025) 있는 상황입니다.

차기 올림픽으로는 Paris 2024-LA 2028-Brisbane 2032등이 이미 결정되어 있습니다.
