평창2018 유치 시 Consultants 활용은 마치 <사금채취>에 동원된 인부들의 역할 및 성과와 흡사하였다고 볼 수 있고 따라서 환금성은 별무신통 하였다고 분석됩니다. 

 

스포츠를 통한 국제관계 및 국제소통, 스포츠 외교 그리고 올림픽 유치나 올림픽대회 조직 운영의 핵심요소는 “국제협력”(International Cooepration)입니다. 

 

국제협력에 있어서 개인적 접촉과 개별 인간관계는 상호 신뢰와 우정이 밑바탕이 되어 협력체계가 형성됩니다.

 

사마란치 前 IOC위원장은 올림픽대회 성공의 관건은 “국제협력”이라고 강조하곤 했습니다.

국제 협력 없이는 TV, 마케팅, 엔트리(참가신청), 언론, 안전, 회의, 홍보, 심판과 경기, 수송, IT(정보 기술) 등 제반 분야의 소통과 원만한 진전(進展)이 이루어 질 수 없습니다. 

 

 

“국제협력”은 “스포츠 외교”(Sport Diplomacy)입니다. 

 

올림픽의 “공용어”는 다름 아닌 “스포츠” 그 자체입니다 

 

올림픽 의 “종교”는 “올림피즘(Olympism)”입니다. 

 

“올림피즘이란  우리 인간의 신체, 의지, 마음이 전체적 균형과 조화를 이루며 함께 발전되도록 이끌어 주는 생활 철학입니다”.(Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will, and mind.) 

 

“올림피즘은 스포츠를 문화와 교육에 접목하여 노력하는 가운데 얻는 즐거움, 모범적 사례를 통한 교육적 가치 추구, 그리고 보편타당하면서 기본적이고 윤리적인 원칙을 존중하는 정신을 근간으로 하는 생활방식을 창출하도록 이끌어 줍니다.”(Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy of effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles.) 

 

“올림피즘의 목표(Goal)는 스포츠를 통하여 어디서나 인간의 조화로운 발전을 꾀하며 그럼으로써 인간의 존엄성을 보존하는데 주력하는 평화로운 사회를 건설하도록 하는데 있습니다.”(The goal of Olympism is to place everywhere sport at the service of the harmonious development of man, with a view to encouraging the establishment of a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity.) 

 

“올림픽운동의 목표는 스포츠를 통한 청소년교육으로 이 세상을 평화롭고 보다 더 살기 좋도록 이바지하는 것입니다. 스포츠는 어떠한 종류의 차별도 없이 행해져야하며, 우정과 단결 그리고 페어플레이(공명정대)정신에 입각한 상호이해가 근간이 되는 올림픽정신이 깃들여야 합니다.”(The goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practised without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit whcih requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair- play.) 

 

“올림픽의 가치(Olympic Values)는  “탁월함(Excellence)”, “우정(Friendship)”, 그리고 “존중(Respect)”입니다. 

 

올림픽의 정신( Olympic Spirit)은 “우정(Friendship)”, “단결(Solidarity)”, 그리고 “정정당당(Fair Play)”입니다. 

 

올림픽의 표어(Olympic Motto)는 “보다 빠르게(Citius/Faster)”, “보다 높게(Altius/Higher)”, “보다 강하게(Fortius/Stronger)”입니다. 

 

올림픽의 신조(Olympic Creed)는 ‘인생에서 가장 중요한 것이 승리가 아니고 각고의 노력이듯이 올림픽대회에서 가장 중요한 곳은 승리하는 것이 아니고 참가하는 것이다. 필수불가결한 일이란 정복해 내는 것 보다는 잘 싸워 내는 것이다.’(The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing  in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.)입니다.
