1)Bach IOC위원장은 3월마지막 주 Fiji개최 오세아니아 NOC연합회(ONOC/회장 Robin Mitchell)총회에서 스포츠와 정치는 서로 뒤섞이며 스포츠는 정치와 연계되기도 하지만 스포츠는 자치성을 유지해야 함(sport and politics do mix and that sport must engage with politics, but retain its autonomy). Bach IOC위원장은 미래에 다뤄져야 할 가장 중요한 세력은 디지털화(the single most important force they must deal with for the future is digitalization)라고 함
2)오늘날 2가지 주요관심영역은 청년층의 관심을 유지하기 위하여 eSports와 연계하는 것과 인공지능과의 연계임(the two prime areas of interest today are engagement with sSports to maintain an artificial intelligence) IOC는 4월 중 AI 비전 프로젝트에 착수할 것(IOC will start an AI vision project in April)이라고 언급함
3)스포츠중재재판소(CAS)는 국제복싱연맹(IBF)가 2023년 IOC의 인증철회조치에 대한 항소를 기각하였음(dismissed the appeal by the IBF of the withdrawal of recognition by the IOC in 2023) 중재재팬관들은 IOC가 자체의 사리에 맞게 원하는 바와 자신의 조건에 부합되도록 올림픽을 운영할 수 있다라는 판단을 재차 강조하였음(the arbitrators reinforced the idea that the IOC can run its Olympic Games-within reason-how it wants, with it wants and its own terms)
4)4월 2째주 IOC미래 유치위원회(FHC)방문을 앞두고 Sal Lake City 2034동계올림픽준비위원회는 대회 경기장 배치제안내용을 공개하였음(released its venue assignment proposal for the 2034 Olympic Winter Games) 새로운 신설 경기장 시설계획 全無하며 SLC2002동계올림픽 당시 사용한 11개 경기장 전체를 재 사용하게 될 것임(No new venues are planned, with all 11 sites previously used for the 2002 Winter Games)개 폐회식과 올림픽 선수촌은 다시금 유타대학교에서 개최되고 사용될 것임(the ceremonies and village will once again be at the University of Utah)
5)IOC는 국제복싱연맹(IBF)가 올림픽운동계보로부터 퇴출되는 것에 대한 CAS항소 기각결정내용 성명서를 게시하였으며(The IOC posted a statement on the dismissal of the International Boxing Association appeal of its expulsion from the Olympic Movement) 각국 복싱연맹들에 대하여 World Boxing기구와 같은 새로운 국제복싱관장연맹dl 2025년 상반기까지 활성화되지 않을 경우, 복싱 종목은 LA2028올림픽에 포함되지 않을 것임을 경고함(warned national boxing federations that the sport will not be included on the LA28 program if a new international federation – such as the new World Boxing group – is not in place by “early 2025.”)
6)지난주(3월 26일) Fiji개최 ONOC총회에서 ANOC 세게비치게임이 인도네시아개최가 무산된 것이 주목받았으며 ANOC는 향후 대회개최무산에서 발생한 손실에 대하여 법적 소송을 추진할 것(the fallout of Indonesia’s cancellation of the ANOC World Beach Games last week was noted, with the Association of National Olympic Committees possibly pursuing a lawsuit to recover losses from the event not being held)으로 알려지고 있음. 향후 개최될 세계비치게임 컨셉에 대하여 4월28일 예정된 차기ANOC집행이사회에서 결정될 것(The future of the World Beach Games concept may be decided at the next ANOC Executive Committee meeting on 28 April )으로 보임
7)LA타임즈에 스토리로 실린 보도내용에 따르면 LA카운티교통당국이 2028년 올림픽기간동안 대중교통에 대한 책임을 둘러싸고 고민하고 있다(A Los Angeles Times story reported on a worried Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority over its responsibilities for public transportation during the 2028 Olympic Games)고 함. 하지만 지하철담당국장 겸 LA시의회의원인 Katy Yaroslavsky는 2028년 올림픽에 대하여 “대회를 빌미로 다른 방법으로는 해결할 수 없는 연방 및 주정부재정기금을 청구할 구실이 되기도 함”(It’s also an excuse to go after federal funding and state dollars in a way we might not otherwise be able to do)이라고 언급하였다고 함.
8)세계도핑방지위원회(WADA)는 2022년도 검사결과보고서를 배포하였는데 2019년 코로나19 수준과 근접한 도핑검사결과를 나타냈다고 함(The World Anti-Doping Agency released its 2022 testing report, showing total doping tests close to the 2019 pre-pandemic level)하지만 2019년 보다 양성반응검사수가 현저하게 낮아진 것은 좋은 신호라고 평가함(the number of positive tests was significantly lower than in 2019, a good sign) 가장 많은 검사를 한 종목과 가장 많은 양성검사결과가 도출된 종목은 육상(The most-tested sport and the sport with the most positive tests was Athletics)이라고 밝힘
