IOC는 지난 3월 26일 집행위원회를 열고 러시아에 대하여 오는 9월 소위 우정 게임(so-called Friendship Games)론칭을 통하여 “스포츠를 정치화한다고 비난하였다(accused Russia of “politicizing sport"” by launching its so-called Friendship Games)고 합니다.
우정 게임이란 새로운 경기대회는 올림픽과의 경쟁 대회를 지향하면서 러시아 조직위원회 관계자들은 동계 우정 게임도 계획 중(The new competition will compete with the Olympic Games, and Russian organisers are also planning a winter edition)이라고 합니다.

Paris 2024올림픽 및 패럴림픽 개최 후인 9월15일~29일(15일 간) 70개국 선수들이 36개 스포츠종목에 출전하는 세계우정대회(WFG: World Friendship Games)가 러시아 Moscow 및 Yekaterinburg에서 열린다고 합니다.
그는 기자회견을 통하여 “이 대회는 규모와 준비시간이란 점에서 기록경신토너먼트가 될 것임. 이 대회에서는 36개 타이프의 종목에 208개 세부메달종목이 치러지는데 우리는 이미 국제 우정 협회와 협약서를 체결하였음. 우리는 곧 공동기자회경을 개최할 계획임” (It will be a record-breaking tournament in terms of its size and the preparation time. There will be 36 types of sports programmes, 208 sports disciplines and 283 sets of medals. We have already signed an agreement with the International Friendship Association (IFA). We plan to hold a joint press conference soon) “Dmitry Chernyshenko러시아부총리와 Igor Levitin대통령보좌관을 위원장으로 한 조직위원회가 이미 결성되었음. 동 대회개최법안이 러시아 하원인 Duma에 제출되었음. 우리는 탄탄한 합법적 근거를 만들기 위해 제출된 법안이 곧 채택될 것을 희망함”(The organising committee has already been formed and has held several meetings under the chairmanship of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister [Dmitry] Chernyshenko and Presidential Aide [Igor] Levitin. A bill on the Games has been submitted to the State Duma (lower house of the Russian parliament). We hope that it will be adopted soon in order to create a solid legislative basis)이라고 덧붙였다고 합니다.
Sorokin 동 대회 사무총장은 2024년 우정 게임에 전세계로부터 최소 70개국 선수들이 참가할 것이 예상된다고 언급하였다고 합니다.

Alexey Sorokin조직위원회 사무총장은 “동 대회는 BRICS게임이 아닌 이유는 국가가 아니라 선수들이 초대되기 때문임. 동 대회에 참가 의지가 있는 선수들로 인해 국가가 지칭되는 것임. 우리는 최소 70개국이 참가할 것으로 예상하고 있음. 그 수는 우리가 바라는 최소의 단위임.”(I would like to point out that these are not the BRICS Games, as because athletes are invited, not countries. Countries will be represented by athletes who are willing to participate in them. We are expecting athletes from at least 70 countries. That is the minimum we can count on)이라고 하면서 스포츠인프라는 이미 구축되어 준비 채비를 마쳤으며(the sports infrastructure is already being prepared) “대회 경기는 기존 시설에서 열릴 것이고 구체적으로 우정 대회를 위해 건설되는 것은 아무 것도 없으므로 모든 것이 준비 완료임”(The competitions will be held in existing facilities and nothing will be built specifically for the Games, so everything is ready)이라고 강조하였다고 합니다.
2024년 세계우정게임은 러시아 Moscow와 Yekaterinburg에서 9월15일~29일(15일간) 공동 개최된다고 합니다.
IOC는 “러시아의 스포츠정치화에 대하여 비난”(IOC accused Russia of “politicising sport”)하였으며 전세계스포츠계와 Moscow가 보낸 초청 대상국들로 하여금 “동 대회 참가 및 지지 거부”(called on the sporting world and the governments invited by Moscow to reject any participation in and support for this event) 를 성명서를 통해 촉구하였다고 합니다.
