[하계올림픽 국제연맹연합회 총수의 SportAccord탈퇴 확인사살]

 

 

Francesco Ricci Bitti 하계올림픽 국제연맹연합회(ASOIF)회장 겸 국제테니스연맹(ITF)회장이 5월18일 자로 지난 4월20일 소치 개최 SportAccord,컨벤션 개회식 석상에서 IOC와 Thomas Bach IOC위원장을 원색 비난하는 직격탄(explosive attack)을 날림으로 전세계 스포츠 계에 충격을 던진 바 있으면서도 자신의 주장과 소신을 전혀 굽히고 있지 않는 Marius Vizer SportAccord회장 겸 국제유도연맹(IJF)회장과 IJF를 제외한 27개 ASOIF회원단체들에게 최후 통첩을 알리는 서한을 발송한 것으로 알려졌다.

ASOIF는 SportAccord와의 연합관계 정지 조치하는 과정에서 여러 가지 현안들에 대한 총체적 검토와 해명을 숙제로(pending a full review and clarification of a number of issues) 던졌다고 한다

 

지난 주말 국제 트라이애슬론연맹(ITU)이 9번 째로 SportAccord회원단체 지위 정지를 선언하며 이탈대열에 합류하였다(ITS joined the exodus of federations suspending membership of SportAccord.)고 한다

 

Ricci Bitti회장은 ASOIF의 SportAccord와의 영구결별의 신호탄을 쏘고 있는 것(appears to be signaling a permanent ASOIF split with SportAccord)으로 분석되고 있다

 

Ricci Bitti회장이 보낸 결별 수순으로 향하는 통보 영문 서한 내용 일부를 소개한다(SportAccord조직의 국제 스포츠 계에서의 불필요한 중복성과 혼란 야기 측면을 지적함)

 

“If we could find a positive side to what happened in Sochi, it is that you have triggered a clarification process that was both necessary and long overdue regarding the relationship between our associations vis-a-vis our common members,” the Italian said in the letter.

“ASOIF is the recognized ‘House of Common Interest’ for the Summer Olympic international federations who are at the same time free individually to pursue their own objectives in the way they see fit. 

“What has never been felt necessary or desirable by the preponderance of our association is for there to be an additional ‘umbrella’ organisation that pretends to speak, often without consultation, on behalf of our members collectively,” he explains. 

“To put it plainly, the reality is that the concept of a second collective umbrella organisation is considered redundant and confusing and unwanted by our membership.”

 

ASOIF의 SportAccord활동 정지 선언은 AIOWF 및 ARISF와 같은 다른 그룹의 국제연맹 연합체와의 관계에 영향을 주지는 않을 전망이라고 한다

 

Ricci Bitti회장은 ASOIF가 지명한 SportAccord집행위원 2명 역시 향후 활동을 정지하게 되는데 ‘SportAccord의 미래 역할과 사명 및 헌장 등에 대한 합당함과 명확한 해석을 동반하는 총괄적인 공식검토’가 관건(pending a full formal review leading to clarification and agreement on the future role, mission and constitution of SportAccord0이라며 결별 수순으로 가는 절차를 통보하고 있는 듯하다.

 

Ricci Bitti회장은 Vizer회장과 만나 ‘향후 거취에 대하여 토의하고 약간의 방향 모색을 하기’(to debate and seek some direction for the future)를 원한다고 언급한 것으로 보도되고 있다.
