외신 보도 산책(국제연맹, Peace and Sport 가입열풍)

"평화와 스포츠"(Peace and Sport)는 국제근대오종연맹(UIPM)사무총장이기도한 Joel Bouzou가 창설하였으며 현재 회장직도 맡고 있다.

 

 

Bouzou회장은 근대오종종목 올림픽메달리스트이며 후원명예회장(Patron)인 모나코 국왕겸 IOC위원인 H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco의 고문이기도 하다.

"Peace and Sport"기구는 중립적이고 비 정치적인 국제기구로써 모나코왕국에 본부를 두고 활동 중이다.
"Peace and Sport"기구는  스포츠를 통해 '관용'(tolerance), '존중'(respect), '나눔'(sharing), 및 '범세계시민정신'(citizenship)을 추구하여 지속발전 가능한 평화구현에 그 목적을 두고 있다.

<8개 IF, Peace and Sport 가입>

 

- 지난 주 런던 SportAccord 행사에서 8개 IF개 Peace and Sport 가입 : 국제사이클연맹(UCI), 국제산악등산연맹, 국제3종경기연맹(ITU), 국제아마추어삼보연맹, 국제체조연맹(FIG), 국제세팍타크로연맹, 세계양궁협회(FITA), 국제코프볼연맹등이다.

- 이를 통해 IF들은 세계 저개발 지역의 평화증진, 사회통합 및 교육 활성화를 위해 이미 시작한 여러 사업들을 강화할 계획이다.

- Peace and Sport는 IF들에 네트워크 기반, 정치적 지지 및 운영 협력을 제공해 그들의 자원과 전문성이 세계 평화 구축 및 증진 활동에 통합되고 최고의 정치적 지원을 받을 수 있도록 할 것이다. 

<SportAccord: Eight IFs announce they join Peace and Sport Program>

During last week' SportAccord Convention in London, the International Cycling Union, International Mountaineering and Climbing Association, International Triathlon Union, International Amateur Sambo Federation, International Gymnastics Federation, International Sepak Takraw Federation, International Archery Federation and International Korfball Federation joined Peace and Sport.

Through their alliance, the International Federations (IFs) will underpin initiatives they have already undertaken to promote peace, social cohesion and education in disadvantaged areas of the world.

Peace and Sport provides IFs with a platform for networking, political support and operational co-operation through which their resources and expertise are integrated into global peace-building and peace-promotion projects, supported at the highest political level.

“Peace and Sport will help each IF to customise its sport in a way that suits local conditions, so that it can be practiced with very little equipment or adapted equipment,” read a statement from Peace and Sport.

“These sports will consequently become accessible to youngsters living in even the most disadvantaged environments. This innovative approach enables the values and virtues of sport to be diffused more widely and more effectively, especially to young people, regardless of their living conditions.”
