[OCA회장직무대행 인도출신 Randhir Singh 첫 OCA집행위원회 주재하다(OCA새시대 열릴까?)]

 

OCA회장직무대행으로 지명된 인도 출신 Randhir Singh(IOC위원 및 OCA사무총장 역임) OCA평생 명예부회장이 최근(9월10일) 스위스 제네바 형사법정에서 위조죄로 유죄판결을 받아 징역13개월을 선고 받아 자리에서 물러난 장기집권 OCA회장(자격정지)인 Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah에게 찬사를 보냈다.

Randhir Singh OCA회장 직무대행은 첫 화상 OCA집행위원회를 주재하였다.

1991년이래 30년 간 OCA회장으로 철옹성을 자랑하던 Sheikh Ahmad는 9월10일 유죄판결선고에 대하여 항소할 계획임을 발표(announced plans to appeal against the sentence)하였다.

 

다음은 Randhir Singh OCA회장대행의 화상회의발언내용이다:

 

A.  "I am honoured to be the Acting President of an organisation which we have all so lovingly built and nurtured, but I would like to assure you that this is an interim set-up until Sheikh Ahmad clears his name." (Sheikh Ahmad 자격정지 OCA회장이 누명을 벗을 때 까지 회장대행으로 활동하게 되어 영광임)

 

B.  "I would like to place on record my appreciation and admiration for Sheikh Ahmad in successfully leading this organisation for 30 years; Sheikh Ahmad has been responsible for the growth of the OCA and the Asian Games as one of the biggest multi-sports events in the world. (30년간 재직해온 Sheikh Ahmad회장에 대한 칭송과 찬사)

 

C.  "We, as the OCA Executive Board, should lend all our moral support to him during this critical period and hope and pray that he clears his name sooner rather than later. (Sheikh Ahmad회장의 누명이 벗겨지도록 정신적 성원과 기도 할 것임)

 

D.  "I can assure you the work of the OCA will continue to carry on as usual without any hindrance, as per OCA Constitution and the Olympic Charter. (OCA업무는 OCA헌장과 올림픽헌장에 의거하여 어떠한 장애도 없이 지속적으로 처리될 것임)

 

E.   "I have full confidence that the OCA Headquarters and its director general will continue to carry on the good work which they have been doing for well over four decades." (OCA본부와 사무총장이 지난 40년간 해 오던 업무를 계속 잘 수행할 것으로 확신함)

 

 

OCA집행위원회는 중국 Hanzhou2022아시안게임을 포함하여 향후 4개 아시아대륙 종합대회(four multi-sport games)에 대한 준비상황보고에 대해 청취하였다

 

또한 OCA집행위원회는 2022년 태국 방콕 및 Chonburi개최 제6회 아시아 실내 및 무예대회(the sixth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games)와 코로나19로 최근 2022년 12월로 연기된 중국 Shantou개최 제3회 Shanton2021아시아청소년게임 준비상황보고에 대하여서도 청취하였다.

 

당초 2020년 개최 예정이었다가 2023년으로 연기된 중국 Sanya개최 제6회 Sanya2020아시아비치게임(Asian Beach Games)에 대한 준비상황보고(an update)도 아울러 청취하였다.
