1) Paris 2024올림픽 선수촌은 Paris시내 Saint-Dennis지역에 건설되어 왔는데 드디어 시간 네에 완공되었으며(completed on time) 2월29일(목)대회조직위원회로 인수인계 되었음. 올림픽 선수촌 단지(complex)는 올림픽참가대표단 14,000명을 수용할 것이고 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 대회 이후 커뮤니티 주거용으로 사용될 것임(used for community housing after the Olympic and Paralympic Games are concluded)
(1)Emmanuel Macron 프랑스대통령이 참석한 가운데 Paris2024조직위원회 관계자들은 2월29일 Paris시내 구역인 Saint-Denis에 위치한 올림픽선수촌 단지 열쇠 전달 식을 통해 선수촌을 인수인계 절차(receive the ceremonial keys to the Olympic Village complex in the Saint-Denis section of Paris on Thursday)를 가졌음. 이는 Paris2024올림픽의 핵심 시설 중 하나에 대핸 건설 완공을 기념하는 것임(marking the completion of the construction of one of the key facilities for the 2024 Olympic Games)
(2)올림픽선수촌의 위치는 대회 육상경기장으로 사용될 Stade de France에 인접하고 있으며 경제부양책을 제공하기 위하 특화되어 선정된(chosen specifically to provide an economic lift) Paris 시의 최 빈곤층 지역들 중 하나(one of the poorest areas of Paris)라고 함
(3)올림픽 및 패럴림픽 이 종료된 후, 이 선수촌 단지는 6,000개의 사무실 공간과 육아방/탁아실/보육원 및 초등학교와 함께 약 6,000명(추정)에게 분양될 아파트로 재구성될 것(refitted to offer apartments for an estimated 6,000 people, with office space for another 6,000 and a nursery and elementary school on-site)이라 함
(4)Paris 2024대회의 전체 계획(overall plan)에는 다양한 형태의 2,927개 주거 구역(2,927 housing units of various types)과 2개의 주차 구역(two park areas), 2개의 헬스장(two gyms)과 한 개의 호텔, 다수의 사무실(multiple office) 및 쇼핑 구역(shop areas)등이 Seine강 양편에 위치하게 되는 것(situated on both sides of the Seine River)임
(5)AP통신보도내용을 살펴보면 대회 관련 건설프로젝트의 노력으로 인해 2,000개의 일자리가 창출되었는데 그 중 1,136개의 일자리는 Saint-Denis지역 주민에게 돌아갔다고 함
(6)“올림픽선수촌 건설비용은 20억 유로(약 22억불/약2,86조원)이 소요되었는데 투자금의 대부분은 부동산개발업자들과 6억 4,600만 유로(약 7억불/약 9,100억원)에 해당하는 공적자금이 투자되었다 함”(The village cost about 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion), most of it investment by property developers but also including 646 million euros ($700 million) from public funds.)
(7)전체 건설은 올림픽 인프라를 위해 특별히 설립된 정부기구(the specially-created government agency for Olympic infrastructure)인 Solideo (Société de Livraison des Ouvrages Olympiques)의 책임하에 진행되었으며 올림픽선수촌은 5개 주 거주지역과 지속가능성을 홍보하기 위해 에어컨 시설이 없는 빌딩으로 구성되었는데 나무 바닥을 통해 물순환냉방서비스가 제공된다고 함(Organized into five main residential zones, the buildings have no air conditioning in order to promote sustainability, but are cooled with water circulated through wooden floors)
(8)올림픽대회용으로 거주 시설은 14,000명의 선수들과 팀 임원들을 그리고 패럴림픽 대회용으로는 9,000명을 수용할 것이라고 하며, 수 많은 시설물들이 경기와 훈련 및 일상생활을 위해 제공될 것이라고 함(A long list of facilities for competition, training and everyday life will be provided):
● 올림픽/패럴림픽 선수촌 식당은 일일 40,000audd에게 식사제공 준비 중(Dining hall for 3,260, ready to serve 40,000 meals a day) ● 헬스장은 350개의 운동기구들이 구비됨(Fitness center with 350 workout machines) ● 7개 종목 스포츠용 훈련장 시설(Training sites for seven other sports) ● 올림픽/패럴림픽 선수촌 플라자 서비스 중심/은행, 우체국 등(Village Plaza services hub /banking, post office)
(9)선수촌 숙박시설 룸 당 2명을 초과하지 않으며 아파트 한 가구 당 최대 8명으로 침대 수 당 목욕탕/화장실 구비 비율은 4:1이며 침대는 Tokyo2020올림픽처럼 모두 판지로 되어 있는데 Tokyo2020올림픽 당시 처음에는 판지 침대에 대해 비웃었지만 만족스러운 것으로 판명되었고 대회 후 재활용될 수 있다고 함(The residences will house not more than two to a room, with a maximum of eight in any one apartment, with a ratio of beds to bathrooms of 4:1. The beds, made of cardboard, were designed for Tokyo 2020 and initially laughed at, but proved satisfactory and can be recycled after the Games.)

2) 2월26일(월) Paris시내 지하철내에서 기술공이 보안 및 안전 전개 정보가 포함되어 있을 지도 모르는 노트북과 플래시가 담긴 가방 도난 사건으로 인해 한때 소동이 있었지만 Paris시청에서는 그렇지 않다고 해명하였다(A stolen bag off of a train caused a short panic in Paris as a city engineer lost a laptop and flash drives on Monday evening which might have contained security deployment information ... but City Hall says it didn’t.)함
3) Beijing이 세계육상경기연맹(World Athletics)이사회로부터 2027년 세계육상선수권대회 개최지로 선정되었으며 Beijing은 가은 대회를 두 번 개최한 3번째 되가 될 것이라고 함(Beijing was awarded the 2027 World Athletics Championships by the World Athletics Council and will be the third city to host the event twice.) Beijing은 최근 10년 간 중국 측의 수영과 체조를 포함하여 대형스포츠이벤트 유치 노력의 일환으로 보이(It also continues a hefty push by China for major championship events this decade, including Worlds in gymnastics and swimming.)
4) Paris2024올림픽 수영종목스케줄 변경으로 4번째 개인 금메달을 노리는 프랑스의 메달 유망주 Leon Marchand에게 도움이 될 것이라고 하는데 당초 남자 수영 개인 접영 200m경기와 개인 평영 200m시합이 7월31일에 1시간 가량의 간격이 생겨 두 종목 다 연달아 출전하게 되었다고 함 (A Paris 2024 schedule change in swimming will help France’s Leon Marchand contend for a fourth individual gold, as the 31 July men’s 200 m Butterfly and 200 m Breaststroke have been moved apart by about an hour; they were back-to-back.)
