[Macron프랑스대통령, Paris2024 올림픽에 이스라엘참가허용과 러시아참가배제에 대한 정당성 항변]

Emmanuel Macron 프랑스대통령은 4월15일(월) Paris 2024 올림픽에 우크라이나 “침략전쟁”을 일으키기로 작정한 러시아이기에 배제된 러시아와 “침공이 아니기에” 국가로서 참가가 허용된 이스라엘에 대한 처우 관련 차이점에 대하여 정당성을 부여하였다(justified the difference in treatment at the Olympic Games between Russia, which has been excluded as a nation because it decided to wage a "war of aggression" in Ukraine, and Israel, whose flag will be present because it has not been an "aggressor")고 합니다.

2월하순 IOC에 대하여 차기 올림픽(Paris 2024)에 러시아와 벨라루스에 적용한 동일한 제재조치를 요구하였으나 허사로 끝난 바 있는(asked the IOC in vain "to apply to Israel, during the next Olympic Games, the same sanctions as those applied to Russia and Belarus) LFI프랑스 국회의원들(deputies)과 환경보호론자들(ecologists)에게 답변형식으로 러시아와 이스라엘사이에는 “매우 다른 상황”(a very different situation)이 존재한다고 Macron 프랑스대통령은 BFMTV-RMC와의 방송기자회견에서 응답하였다고 합니다.
그는 “이스라엘은 테러리스트 공격의 희생자 국가임. 우리는 이스라엘의 대응과 우리자신을 보호하기 위한 방법에 대하여 견해를 달리할 수 있지만 우리는 이스라엘이 공격 자라고 이야기 할 수 없으므로 그 차이는 분명한 것임”(Israel was the victim of a terrorist attack (...) We can disagree with Israel on how to react and protect ourselves, but we cannot say that Israel is an attacker, so the distinction is very clear) “그것이 바로 이스라엘 국가가 Paris 2024올림픽에 게양될 것이라는 이유임. 이스라엘선수들이 그곳이 참석할 것이며 본인은 그들이 그 지역에서 많은 행동주의자들과 경쟁해야 할 것이기 때문에 평화의 궤도가 될 것을 희망하는 바임”(That is why the Israeli flag will be there. The athletes will be there and I also hope that they will be vectors of peace because they will have to compete with many actors in the region)이라고 덧붙였다고 합니다.
IOC는 오슬로 평화협상 과정의 유산으로 1995년이래로 이스라엘NOC와 팔레스타인 NOC가 함께 공존해 왔으므로(as the Israeli and Palestinian National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have coexisted since 1995, a legacy of the Oslo peace process) “두 국가 해결방안”이라는 자체적용방침에 의거하여 이스라엘과 하마스 간의 가자 전쟁의 소용돌이에 휘말리지 않기 위해 최선의 노력을 경주하고 있다(The IOC is doing its utmost to stay out of the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, hiding behind its own application of the "two-state solution")고 합니다.
Macron대통령은 지난 주 토요일(4월13일)밤 이란의 이스라엘에 대한 전례 없는 공격에 대하여 처음 코멘트하였는데9 commented on Iran's "unprecedented" attack on Israel on Saturday night) 그는 전쟁이 확산되는 것을 피하기 위해 “가능한 모든 조치”를 취할 것을 촉구하였다(He called for "everything possible to avoid an escalation")고 합니다.
다른 한편으로 그는 “이스라엘을 설득하여” “이란을 고립시키는” 반면 현 상황을 확대하지 말기를 희망하고 있다(he hopes to "convice Israel" not to escalate the situation, while "isolating" Iran)고 합니다.
