[Jakarta Palembang 2018 아시안게임 화려한 폐회식결산 이모저모와 차기 개최도시 Hangzhou2022 OCA깃발 인계인수 식 스케치]
초반에 천둥번개에 이어 폭우가 쏟아지고(amid heavy rain - and initially thunder and lightning) 불꽃놀이가 삼지사방에 함께 요란하게 터지는 가운데(riddled with fireworks) 역동적인 폐회식(an energetic Closing Ceremony)이 9월2일 밤 자카르타 메인스타디움에서 거행됨으로 2018년 아시안게임이 공식적으로 그 막을 내린 바 있습니다.
개최도시들인 자카르타와 팔렘방 전역에 걸쳐 치러진15일 간의 열전이 끝난 후(After 15 days of intense competition across co-host cities Jakarta and Palembang) 9월2일 밤의 폐회식행사는 전 아시아대륙의 축하무대로 장식되었다(was billed as a celebration of the whole Asian continent)고 합니다.
Thomas Bach IOC위원장이 참석하였으며 한국 보이 밴드 수퍼 주니어와 iKON과 인도 가수 Slathia 및 인도 가수 Siddharth Slathia 그리고 인도네시아 스타인 Dira Sugandi 등을 포함한 유명아시아 팝 그룹들로부터의 현란한 다중 공연(featured multiple performances)이 돋보인 폐회식 행사였다고 합니다.
폐회식에서는 Joko Widodo인도네시아 대통령과 대회 폐막을 공식 선언한Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah OCA회장 등을 포함한 다양한 정부 및 스포츠 관계자들의 연설(also speeches from various Government and sporting officials )도 함께 이어졌다고 합니다.
전통방식대로(as is tradition) 참가국들의 행진과 깃발 인계인수 식(a Parade of Nations and a handover ceremony)이 거행되었는데 아시안 게임 깃발이 차기 대회 개최도시인 중국의 Hangzhou2022에게 공식적으로 인계되었다고 합니다.
폭우가 스타디움에 쏟아지고 번개가 주기적으로 하늘을 번쩍 번쩍 밝혀주는 가운데(As heavy rain poured down on the stadium and lightening periodically lit up the sky) 9월2일 밤 폐회식은 감명 깊은 불꽃놀이가 선보이면서 인도네시아 국가연주가 나오고 시작되었다(began with an impressive fireworks display, followed by a rendition of the Indonesian national anthem )고 합니다
수백 명의 북 치는 공연 자들이 관여된 곡예 댄스(An acrobatic dance performance involving hundreds of drummers)가 이어 연출되었으며 이 공연은 참가국 행진시작을 일리는 또 다른 불꽃놀이가 전개 전에 선 보였다9 before another fireworks display singled the start of the Parade of Nations)고 합니다
전체참가선수들이 아시아의 단결의 상징으로 스타디움 안으로 행진하며 입장하기 전에(before all the athletes marched into the stadium as a symbol of Asian unity) 출전 국 모든 국기가 하나씩 등장하였다고 합니다.
선수들 뒤로 수백 명의 대회참가 자원봉사자들이 따라 들어 왔는데 대회개최를 도와 준 그들의 노고에 대한 감사의 표시로 표출되었다(followed by hundreds of Games volunteers as a thank you for their efforts in helping run the event)고 합니다.

Widodo인도네시아 대통령은 비록 자신은 참석하지 못했음(not in attendance in the stadium)에도 불구하고 일련이 연설을 진행하였다(started a series of speeches)고 합니다
대통령은 대회 직전 규모 6.9의 지진으로 100명 가까이 목숨을 앗아간 (a 6.9 magnitude earthquake killed nearly 100 people just before the Games began)Lombok섬으로부터 영상비디오를 통해 등장하였다(appeared via video link from the island of Lombok)고 합니다.
지진피해로부터 생존한 대중들 앞에서 연설한(Speaking in front of a crowd of survivors) 대통령은 역경을 무릅쓰고 보여 주었었던 사기앙양정신이 고무적(the “uplifting spirit” they had shown in the face of adversity was inspiring)이라고 언급하였다고 합니다
Widodo대통령 하의 인도네시아 부통령인 Jusuf Kalla가 행한 또 다른 연설 후(after another speech) Sheikh Ahmad OCA회장이 무대위로 올라와 대회 폐막을 공식 선언하였다(then stepped up and officially declared the Games over)고 합니다
그 때 기 인계인수 식(the flag handover ceremony)이 거행되었는데 중국올림픽위원회(COC)위원장 Gou Zhongwen과 Hangzhou 시장 Xu Liyi가 2022년 차기 아시안게임개최도시를 대표하여 등장하였으며 직후 전통중국 춤 공연이 4년 후 기대되는 예고편으로 무대를 사로 잡았다(a traditional Chinese dance was performed as a teaser of what to expect in four in four years)고 합니다.
이러한 모든 행사 내내 스타디움 천정으로부터 터져 나온 불꽃놀이가 주기적으로 계속되어(fireworks continued to erupt periodically from the roof) 탄성을 자아냈으며 폐회식의 최종 마당에서 노래가 흘러나오기 시작하자 다시 더 많은 불꽃놀이 공연을 통하여 환영 및 막간 사이를 마무리하고(more fireworks were used to both welcome and end each act) 있었다고 합니다
인도네시아 팝-롹 그룹이 제일 먼저 공연에 등장하였으며 그 뒤로 Slathia와 Denada가 출연하였고 이어 한국 그룹이 iKON이 공연에 참가하였다고 합니다.
각 그룹 별로 모두 가장 유명한 히트곡을 공연하자 각 공연순서마다 관중은 거대한 함성으로 환호하였다고 합니다(Each act was greeted by huge cheers from the crowd as they all performed their most famous hits)
폐회식 공연의 피날레는 또 다른 한국 그룹인 Super Junior가 맡았는데 그 그룹의 율동과 노래는 스타디움 내부의 소음까지 가라 앉힐 정도로(at its height largely drowned out the noise inside the stadium) 거대한 불꽃놀이 한마당과 함께 절정을 장식(brought to an end by another Korean group in Super Junior, whose act climaxed alongside a huge fireworks display )하였다고 합니다.
폐회식 당일 이른 아침(earlier in the day) 일본은 대회 마지막 금메달을 혼성 팀 트라이애슬론 종목 경기에서 획득하였지만 (Japan claimed the final gold medal of the competition by winning the mixed team triathlon)종합 메달집계에서는 중국이 단연 1위를 고수(China topped the overall medal table)하였습니다.
중국은 금132, 은 92, 동 65로 대회를 마감하였으며 개최국 인도네시아는 31개 금메달을 획득하여 아시안게임 사상 월등히 훌륭한 성적을 거양하였는데(by far their most successful Asian Games, winning 31 gold medals) 과거 가장 많은 금메달 수는 11개였다고 합니다.
