IOC가 뉴스로 전 홈페이지에 소개한 심석희선수 은메달 성공 뉴스(Silver success for Shim Suk Hee )

젖 먹은 힘까지 발휘하여 2012년 인스브르크 청소년 동계올림픽(Youth Olympic Winter Games)에서 금메달을 획득한 후 한국의 떠오르는 스타인 심석희 선수는 치열한 접전끝에 소치동계올림픽 쇼트트랙 여자 1500m 개인결승에서 2위를 기록하여 시상대에서 은메달리스트로 등극하였다(Going from strength to strength after her gold medal at the Innsbruck 2012 Youth Olympic Games, South Korea's rising star Shim Suk Hee claimed silver in a crash-and-burn finish for a podium place in the ladies 1500m short track this weekend.)

 

17세의 심석희선수는 Iceberg 스케이팅 팰리스에서 열린 결승전에서 2분19초239의 기록으로 그녀의 생애 첫 올림픽 은메달을 획득하였다(The 17-year-old earned her first Olympic medal in the final at the Iceberg Skating Palace, clocking 2:19.239.)
 

바로 2년 전 첫 번째 청소년 동계올림픽에 참가했던 십대의 틴에이저인 심선수는 그녀의 조국인 대한민국 평창에서 2018년 열리는 동계올림픽에서는 자신의 금번 은메달을 계기로 자기종목에서 금메달을 지향한다(The teenager, who participated in the first Winter Youth Olympic Games just two years ago, has been motivated by her silver medal to aim for the gold when the Games come to her home nation in PyeongChang in 2018.)

 
"나는 은메달을 획득하였지만 금메달을 갖게 될 것이다. 그리고 특별한 것은 우리국민들이 지켜보는 우리나라에서 금메달을 딸 수 있게 되기 때문이다"(I have the silver, but I will get the gold, and what will make it special is that it will be in my own country with my own people watching.)

 

 

심석희 선수는 2012년 인스부르크 동계청소년올림픽에 2012년 참가하였으며 그 당시 추억을 즐거워하고 있다.(Suk Hee participated in the Innsbruck Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2012 and remembers those days fondly.)
 

"청소년 올림피안이 된다는 것은 특별한 것이기에 그러한 과정을 통하여 잘 훈련을 받았으며 청소년올림픽에서 배운 교육과정 역시 탁월하였다, 그러한 이유로 우리는 성공에 대해 잘 대처하고 있으며 실패의 시련은 더욱 더 잘 대처할 수 있게 되었다."(Being a YOG athlete is special, we are trained well and we are taught well at the Youth Olympic Games; that is why we can handle success well, but failure even better.)
