12월4일 직전 국제탁구연맹(ITTF)회장인 Thomas Weikert가 독일올림픽체육회(DOSB: German Olympic Sports Confederation)신임회장으로 선출되었다.
Weikert후보는 경쟁후보인 Claudia Bokel(올림픽 여자 펜싱 은메달리스트 겸 선수자격IOC위원 역임)을 양자대결에서 361:56이란 압도적인 표차로 누르고(secured a landslide victory) 신임 DOSB회장에 당선되었다.

이로써 Thomas Weikert신임회장은 전임자인 Alfons Hörmann(2013~2021)의 뒤를 이어 독일체육회(DOSB)새 회장이 되었다.
