1)3월11일자 외신보도에 따르면 올림픽대회조직위원회 준비사항 점검을 위해 통상 7번 방문하는 IOC조정위원회(위원장: Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant(BEL)가 3월8일 7번째 최종방문회의(3일간)을 마치고 Paris 2024올림픽준비상황 전반에 대한 최종 결론으로 대회 준비가 순조롭다(the event is in good hands and on track)고 내렸다고 함.

(2)그는 앞으로 15개의 테스트이벤트를 더 치러야 하며 45,000명에 달하는 자원봉사자들 훈련도 병행해야 함. “작업량이 지대함” (15 test events are still to come, along with the training for 45,000 volunteers: “it’s a huge workload.”_이라고 덧붙였다고 함
(3)Estanguet Paris 2024조직위원장은 개회식이 7월26일 오후 7:30분(Paris현지시간)에 시작되며 일몰 시간이 저녁 9:36분이므로 우리는 자연 광을 최대한 활용하기를 원함(As for the historic opening on the Seine River, Estanguet confirmed that the ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. Paris time: “We want to make the most of the natural light,” as sunset will be at 9:36 p.m.)이라고 설명함

(5)Beckers-Vieujant IOC조정위원장은 러시아와 벨라루스 선수들의 Paris 2024올림픽 참가 금지 여부에 대한 질문에 대하여 “오늘 현재 이것은 해당되지 않는 사항인데 대회참가가 허용된 러시아와 벨라루스 여권소지선수들에 대하여 개회식 참가가 금지되지 않음”(Today, this is not the case. 1)3월8일 현재 LA28올림픽 및 패럴림픽 수입금이 예상대로 견고하게 속속 쌓이고 있는(revenue for the LA28 Games is coming in solidly and as expected)상황에서 오늘 현재 이미 Paris2024 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 수입금총액이상(more LA28 revenue today than all of Paris 2024)을 기록했다고 Casey Wasserman LA28조직위원장이 Bill Simmons Podcast에 출연하여 재차 확인하였다고 함.
(1)“예산집행상 무서운 대목은 마지막 18개월 동안 우리 예산의 85%를 지출하게 된다는 것”(The scary part is, we will spend 85% of our budget in the last 18 months)임

가.Paris2024대회예산은 US$ 47억 7천만불(약 6.1조원/€4.397 billion in total, or about $4.79 billion U.S)임. LA28조직위원장인 Wasserman과 전임 CEO인 Kathy Carter는 이전에 LA28의 그 정도 금액의 수입금이 계약 중이라고 언급 하였으므로 그의 코멘트는 놀랄 일이 아니었음(LA28 has revenues of about that amount under contract, so his comment was no surprise)

2)LA28조직위원회와 지금까지 계약 체결된 대금 중 일부인 현금 US$15.35억불(약 2조원)는 IOC가 조직위원회에 지불하기로 되어 있는 것이며 그 중 US$1억6천만불(약 2,080억원)은 2017년 이래로 Los Angeles Recreation & Parks의 청소년 스포츠 프로그램 지원기금으로 책정되어 있으며 2028년 중반기까지 지속적으로 제공된다(of which $160 million has been assigned to fund Los Angeles Recreation & Parks youth sports programs since 2017, and continuing to the middle of 2028)고 함
3)Wasserman조직위원장은 개인적으로 Paris 2024올림픽 관전을 통해 배울 것이 많을 것(there will be a lot of learn from seeing the Paris Games in person this summer)이며 최근 국제종합경기대회가 특이한 곳에서 열리거나 코로나19 등으로 위축되었던 올림픽이 재 도약하려는 시점에 미국의 관심이 고조될 것임을 예상하고 있다(he expects U.S. interest in the Olympics to rebound after multiple recent Games in unusual places or impacted by Covid-19)고 함.
4)Paris 경시청(Paris Prefect of Police)은 인터뷰를 통해 올림픽과 패럴림픽 시기에 강구되고 있는 고강도의 안전대책을 넘어 Seine강을 횡단하는 여러 개의 교량에 대한 접근이 대회에 앞선 기간 인 7월1일~15일에 폐쇄될 것임(access to multiple bridges across the Seine River will be closed for 1-15 July in advance of the event)을 알렸다고 함. 노조 지도자는 대회기간 중 직원들에 대하여 더 많은 수당이 지급되지 않을 경우 파업을 강행하겠다고 위협하고 )있다(A union leader threatens strikes at hospitals if staff are not paid more money during the Games period)고 함
5)FIFA는 2026년 월드컵대회에 6백만명정도가 방문할 것으로 예상하고 있는데 극히 일부만이 캐나다, 멕시코 및 미국 3개국 16개 도시에서 열리는 축구시합을 참관하게 될 것(FIFA expects six million people to visit the FIFA World Cup matches in 2026, of which only a fraction will be attending the matches at the 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the U.S.)이라고 함
[인도 Ahmedabad 2036 올림픽유치가속화지향 도시철도망확대계획 추진(Metro Rail Extensions to Support India’s 2036 Olympic Bid)]
인도의 Ahmedabad시는 IOC의 개혁 취지(새로운 시설 건설 지양)에도 불구하고(despite IOC reforms) 인도의 2036년 올림픽유치를 지원하기위한 일환으로 도시철도망 확대 계획을 추진하고 있다고 합니다.
3월8일 인도정부최고위층 소식통에 따르면 철도 프로젝트는 “신속한 자금조달”(prompt financing)을 확고히 하기 위해 진행 중인 올림픽 인프라 프로젝트와 연계될 것으로 알려지고 있다고 합니다.

인도 Gujarat 주(state) 소재 도시철도공사(metro transit authority)는 철도망확대계획 초안을 마련(drafted rail expansion plans)하였는데 이는 Ahmadabad 2036 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 유치 제안내용을 수용하는 것이라고 합니다.
The Times of India신문에 따르면 Gujar도시철도공사(GMRT: Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation)는 철로망확대계획 초안을 통해 제안된 올림픽 주경기장인 Narendra Modi Stadium이 위치한 Motera지역까지 철도망을 연장하고 올림픽선수촌예정지역인 Manipur까지도 연결된다고 합니다.
기타 다른 올림픽경기장 소재지역까지도 확대철도망으로 연결된다는 것이 GMRC의 제안 내용(Other possible Olympic sites are also linked according to the GMRC proposal)이라고 합니다.
인도정부최고위층 소식통에 의하면 신속한 자금조달확보를 확고히 하기 위하여 철도망프로젝트는 진행 중인 올림픽 인프라 프로젝트와 연계될 것(the rail project will be linked to the ongoing Olympic infrastructure projects to ensure “prompt financing.”)이라고 알려지고 있다고 합니다.
Narendra Modi 인도 총리는 2023년 10월 Mumbai개최 IOC총회기간 동안 인도의 올림픽유치추진을 런칭하였다고 합니다. 하지만 Ahmedabad가 인도올림픽협회(IOA: Indian Olympic Association)에 의해 인도 올림픽유치후보도시로 지명 되어야(Ahmedabad has yet to be nominated host city by the Indian Olympic Association)하는데 아직 아무 지역도 확인된 곳을 없다고 합니다.
IOA관계자에 따르면 인도가 IOC미래올림픽유치위원회(FHC: Future Host Commission)와 잠재적 유치에 대하여 논의 진행 단계에 참여하여 왔다(have engaged the IOC Future Host Commission (FHC) in ongoing discussions over a potential bid)고 보고하였다고 합니다.
설사 지명되었다 하더라도, Ahmedabad는 인도의 사상 첫 올림픽개최국으로 선출되기 위하여 길고도 복잡한 길을 따라 가야 할 필요가 있는 것(would need to follow a long and complicated path to be chosen to host India’s first-ever Games)입니다.
IOC에 따르면 2036년 올림픽유치관심표명 국가들이 여럿(several countries interested in bidding for the 2036 edition) 있지만 향후 2026년 또는 2027년이 되어야 2036년 올림픽개최도시 선출을 위한 선거가 이루어 질 것(no election will be held before “2026 or 2027”)이라고 합니다.
지금까지 독일이 가능한 올림픽유치를 둘러싼 공공협의과정에 착수(launched a public consultation process around a possible bid)하였으며 다른 국가들은 유치관심표명 수준인데 IOC는 미래 프로젝트와 관련하여 비밀 토론에 관여하고 있는 국가들에 대하여서는 함구하고 있다(The IOC does not disclose which countries are involved in confidential discussions over future projects)고 합니다.
그럼에도 불구하고 Ahmedabad관계자들은 올림픽유치마스터플랜을 디자인 할 컨설턴트들을 고용하였으며 Ahmedabad가 속한 주 정부는 제안된 올림픽에 앞서 주요 스포츠 인프라 개발 프로젝트추진을 약속하였다(committed to major sports infrastructure development projects to be completed ahead of the proposed Games)고 합니다.
최근에 만들어진 올림픽유치를 위한 개혁 하에서 IOC는 경비절감과 지속가능성 지지의 수단으로 올림픽개최 시설물은 오직 기존시설사용 필요를 강조(emphasized the need to use only existing facilities to host the Games as a means to reduce costs and support sustainability)해 왔습니다.
이러한 올림픽유치변혁 전에는 Rio2016올림픽개최를 위해 약속된 지하철확장이 예산 상의 문제로 미 완공(a metro extension promised for the Rio 2016 Games was delivered incomplete and over budget) 된 바 있으며 평창2018 동계올림픽을 위하여 제안된 바 있던 서울과 지방 연계 철도 라인은 대회개최확정 후 공사완공기간이 단축된(a regional rail line proposed for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games was shortened after the Games were awarded) 바 있습니다.
Brisbane2032올림픽대회개최계획중 IOC개혁 후 철도인계사업은 지역성장지원을 위해 올림픽과 관계 없이 약속된 것이라는 취지로 개최도시협약서가 체결(Plans for the Brisbane 2032 Games inked after the reforms promised rail links that were said to be needed anyways to support the growth of the region)되었지만 지금은 철도연계프로젝트의 추정 경비가 천정부지로 치솟아 올림픽의 우선순위사업으로 분류되고(now the project is being labeled a priority for the Olympics as estimated costs have skyrocketed) 있다고 합니다.
하지만 이러한 시나리오는 IOC가 피하기를 희망하는 타입입니다(This scenario is the type the IOC hoped to avoid.)
그러나 인도의 프로젝트가 착공이 승인된 것이라면 IOC는 모른 채 외면할 수 있을 소지가 있습니다. (But if the Indian project is approved with shovels in the ground the IOC could turn a blind eye.)
거대 인구가 상주하는 인도 아대륙(亞大陸/Indian subcontinent with its huge population)은 IOC가 파트너로 삼고 싶어할 만한 관심 지역(a region with which the IOC is interested in partnering)이지만, 내재된 위험요소 없이 상대하고 싶어할 것(they want to do so without the inherent risks)입니다.
Paris는 금년 여름 거의 대부분의 경기장과 인프라가 임시시설이든 기존이든 간데 올림픽을 치를 것(Paris will host the Games this Summer with most venues and infrastructure either temporary or pre-existing)이며 LA2028올림픽은 대회 개최를 위해 건설이 필요한 경기장이나 시설물이 전무할 것(Los Angeles will host in 2028 claiming to build nothing specifically for the Games)으로 알려지고 있습니다.
[Paris 2024올림픽 Seine강가에서의 개회식(7월26일)에 사상 최대규모인 32만6천명 관람 예상]
프랑스 내무부장관은 3월6일 프랑스상원청문회(a Senate hearing)에서 7월26일 열리는 Paris2024올림픽개회식에 Seine강 부두 하단부에 착석 할 104,000명의 유로입장권소지 관람객들(104,000 ticketed spectators on the lower quays)과 부두 상단 부에 착석 할 무료입장권소지 관람객들(222,000 with free tickets on the upper quays) 모두 합쳐 326,000명으로 올림픽개회식 참석 사상 최대규모를 예상한다(setting the expected attendance at 326,000, the most ever)고 발언 하였다고 합니다.

Seine강가에서 열릴 예정인 Paris2024올림픽 개회식 참관 관람객에 대한 세부 내역이 3월5일(화) Gerard Darmanin프랑스 내무장관(French Interior Minister)에 의해 프랑스 상원 청문회에서 공개되었는데 Seine강 부두 상단 부에 착석 할 관람객들에 대하여 보다 많은 제한을 둘 것(with further restrictions placed on those on the upper quays along the river)이라고 합니다
Seine 강 부두 하단부 물 옆 착석 용 개회식 입장권 판매가 수개월 간 진행되어 왔으며(Tickets for the ceremony with seating on the lower quays next to the water have been on sale for months) Gerard Darmanin프랑스 내무장관에 따르면 104,000명으로 제한된 유료 관람객에게만 허용될 것(104,000 paying spectators will be admitted)이라고 합니다.
하지만 Seine 강 부두 상단 부에 착석 할 무료 관람객 수는 당초 대략 500,000명으로 추산되었다가 현재 222,000명으로 축소 조정되었다고 합니다.
신원확인 차원에서 유료 및 무료 관람객 모두 입장권 소지가 요구되는데(required to have a ticket) 3월5일 발표에 따르면 안전문제를 고려하여 통행권은 프랑스정부당국이 기타 올림픽 이벤트 개최 지역 또는 타운 거주자들과 프랑스 경기단체들과 다른 관련 그룹들에게 직접 배포할 것(these passes will be distributed by the French government to residents of towns or districts where other Olympic events will be held)이라고 합니다.
Gerard Darmanin프랑스 내무장관은 “군중의 이동 흐름을 관리하기 위하여, 우리는 모든 사람이 다 오도록 할 수는 없음”(To manage crowd movement, we can’t tell everyone to come) “모두가 이해하는 안전 상의 이유로, 최근 몇 주간 두드러지는 테러리스트 위협을 감안하여 우리는 입장권을 무료로 하지만 제한 밑 통제할 수 밖에 없음”(For security reasons that everyone understands, notably the terrorist threat of recent weeks, we are obliged to make it free but contained)이라고 언급하였다고 합니다.
Seine 강 부두 상단 부에 착석 입장권을 사용하도록 초청받은 무료 관람객들은 안전검사를 필수적으로 받아야 하며 QR코드를 받아야 7월26일 올림픽개회식입장을 위한 접근이 가능하다(Those invited to use the free tickets for the upper quays will be required to undergo a security check and receive QR codes to be able to access their area for the ceremony on 26 July)고 합니다.
상단 부 무료티켓수는 추후 축소될 수 있다(The number of free tickets for the upper quays could be reduced at a later date)고 합니다.
Gerard Darmanin프랑스 내무장관은 기자들에게 안전검사대상은 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 대회 관계자들을 통틀어 대략 1,000,000가량으로 진행 중(security checks are being made of about 1,000,000 people related to the Games in some way)이며 지금까지 89,000회의 조사가 이미 실시되었고 그들 중 280명은 안전문제로 거부당했다(280 were rejected for security reasons)고 합니다.
그렇다 할 지라도 지금 추정되고 있는 총 326,000명에 달하는 관람객들은 올림픽개회식을 직접 참관하게(the now-projected total of 326,000 spectators would be – by far – the most to ever see an Olympic opening ceremony live) 되고 Paris 곳곳 팬 운집 지역에 설치될 대형 스크린을 통해 관람하는 50,000명까지 합치면(another 50,000 are expected to watch from giant screens at fan sites elsewhere in Paris) 사상 최다 규모가 될 것으로 전망하고 있다고 합니다.
프랑스정부는 7월26일 개회식 당일 개회식 장 상공 반경 90마일이내의 모든 항공 운행을 폐쇄시킬(to close off all air traffic within a 90-mile radius of the ceremony) 계획이라고 합니다.

격투기 삼보(Combat SAMBO)종목이 The World Games의 정식종목으로 채택되어 2025년 8월7일~17일 중국 Chengdu에서 선 보일 예정이라고 합니다.
격투기삼보종목은 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg 급 등 5개 남자 체급(weight categories)과 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg 급 등 여자 체급 및 1개의 혼성단체경기(a mixed team competition)로 나뉘어 메달이 수여된다고 합니다.
대회출전선수선발은 2024년도 개최 국제삼보대회(유럽-아시아 및 오세아니아/아프리카-미주) 경기결과를 기준으로 삼는다고 합니다:
1)유럽: 각 체급 별 최고 랭킹 Samboist 2명씩 선발

(3)오늘날 “우선 이기고 보자”식의 인식(win-first mentalities)과 속임수(cheating), 조작/부정(fraud) 등의 문제의 모두가 존재하고 있지만 고대올림픽은 293회 동안 대회가 연속적으로 이어졌는데 Paris2024올림픽은 33회차로써 고대올림픽의 293회에 비하면 어린애 정도로 비견할(a comparative child) 수 있음. 하지만 근대올림픽의 새로운 버전은 힘을 가지고 있으며 올림픽이 축구대회나 미식축구 또는 농구 등 타 대회와는 다르다는 대중적 상상력으로 고유영역을 구축해 옴
(4)하지만 올림픽스폰서들의 경우 이러한 의식을 찾아보기 어려운 실정임. 사람들은 올림픽을 다르다고 느끼고 있으며 참가 선수들 역시 Chicago Bears 또는 LA Lakers심지어 Lionel Messi와 Inter Miami와 같이 그들이 선호하는 팀이 누구든 간에 올림픽에서는 자국을 대표한다는 자긍심이 있다라는 것에 방점이 있음
(5)하지만 TOP스폰서 홍보 방향과 정책을 살펴보면 감성(emotion)과 존중(respect)과 칭송(admiration)은 최소한 아직까지는 찾아보기 어려움
2)러시아 안전 보안 이사회 부의장인 Dmitry Medvedev(2008년~2012년 러시아 대통령 역임/2012년~2020년 러시아 총리 역임)는 2월20일 기자들에게 우크라이나 침공 전쟁은 최종 목표인 우크라이나의 수도 Kyiv점령시까지 계속될 것(the war against Ukraine will continue with the ultimate goal of taking Kyiv still in focus)이라고 언급함. 8)미국도핑방지기구 수장(head of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency)은 노르웨이 개최 한 회의에서 25년 전 세계도핑방지기구의 경우와 같이 전세계에 걸쳐 스포츠를 위한 범죄방지기구 설립의 필요성(an “anti-crime” agency for sports needs to be set on a worldwide basis, as was the World Anti-Doping Agency 25 years ago)을 언급하였음. 범죄에 대한 형사집행프로젝트가 어떻게 작동될지 여부는 미정 임에도 불구하고 학대 이슈들과 경기조작행위가 만연해 지고 있으며 이에 대한 독자적인 대응책 마련이 될 필요가 있다(Issues of abuse and competition manipulation are growing and need to be independently addressed, although how a criminal enforcement project would work is unknown)고 언급함
9)ESPN, FOX, Warner Bros. 및 Discovery가 운영하고 있는 스포츠 TV 14개 채널을 단일 스트리밍을 적용하여 대 개편을 실시하자는 방안이 2월6일(화)발표되었으며 월 US$40~50불 (약 5만~6만원) 사용료가 책정될 것(A major shake-up in sports television in the U.S. was announced Tuesday, with 14 channels from ESPN, FOX and Warner Bros. 10)IOC의 충고에 반하여(Against the advice of the International Olympic Committee) 이태리 정부는 Milan-Cortina 2026동계올림픽 썰매 슬라이딩 트랙을 Cortina d’Ampezzo에 건설하는데 약 US$8,800만불짜리(약 1,144억원) 계약을 체결할 것을 확인(the Italian government confirmed the nearly-$88 million contract to build a sliding track in Cortina d’Ampezzo for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games)하였다 함. 이태리 재무장관은 카운트다운 시계를 설치하여 모든 사람이 대회 일정의 빡빡한 시간표를 상기시키자고 제안하였다(suggested putting up a countdown clock to remind everyone of the tight timeline) 함
11)FIFA는 기존 32개국에서 48개국출전으로 확대된 2026북중미(미국-캐나다-멕시코)FIFA월드컵축구대회 시합은 6월11일 멕시코 시 Estadio Azteca경기장에서 시작하여 New Jersey 주 East Rutherford소재 MetLife Stadium에서 최종결승전시합을 할 것으로 축구시합일정(match schduel)을 발표함. Dallas의 AT&T Stadium에서 9개 경기와 한번의 준결승전 시합을 포함하여 가장 많은 시합을 진행할 것이며 Atlanta에서는 또 하나의 준결승전 시합을 개최하고 Miami에서는 3~4위전 시합을 개최할 것(Miami will host the third-place match)임. 축구시합경기를 개최하는 다른 미국도시들은 San Francisco, Houston, and Philadelphia가 포함된다고 함 (Other U.S. cities include San Francisco, Houston, and Philadelphia) 월드컵대회는 4개팀 씩 12개조로경기가 치러지며 여행 시간을 최소화하기 위하여 지리적 지역별로 실시된다고 함(The tournament will feature 12 groups of four teams and teams will compete in geographical regions to minimize travel time.)

12)NHL(National Hockey league)와 NHL아이스하키선수 협회 및 국제 아이스하키연맹(IIHF)는 2026년(이태리 Milan-Cortina)과 2030년(프랑스 French Alps)동계올림픽에 미국NHL소속프로아이스하키선수들의 출전하는 협약 서를 체결하였다고 발표하였는데 IIHF가 이들 프로선수들의 핵심 주요소요경비를 부담하는 조건에 서명하였다고 함. NHL미국 포로 아이스하키선수들은 평창2018 및 Beijing2022동계올림픽에는 출전하지 않았음
13)Paris2024조직위원회는 2월6일 대회 새로운 입장권 방출 첫 시리즈를 발표하였는데 이번에는 2월8일에 모든 스포츠종목경기종목 입장권판매를 개시하였으며 몇몇 종목의 경우 새로운 입장권 수가 제한적으로 적었으며(some only offering a few new tickets) 조직위원회의 성명서에 따르면1,000만장의 올림픽 입장권 중 대략 8백만장이 지금까지 판매되었다고(about eight of the 10 million Olympic tickets available have been sold so far) 함.
14)2월2일 외신에 따르면 1월3일 콜롬비아 Barranquilla (COL)가 대회개최를 철회한 후 2027년 Pan American 게임에 파라과이 아순시온과 페루의 리마(2019년 Pan Am대회 개최국)가 유치신청서를 제출하였다고 함. 개최국 최종 결정은 3월3일 임
15)커뮤니케이션 자이언트 BCW가 7개 플랫폼을 아우르는 행사로써 매년 실시하고 있는 소셜 미디어 랭킹 순위 종합집계결과로 발표한 랭킹 순위를 보면 국제 크리켓 이사회(International Cricket Council)가 2023년에도 다시 1위를 점유(annual social-media rankings by communications giant BCW showed the International Cricket Council a solid no. 1 again in 2023 across a combined total from seven platforms)하였으며 FIFA가 그 뒤를 이어 2위인데 나머지 국제연맹들은 훨씬 뒤쳐져 있다(FIFA was a clear second, but was far ahead of all other federations)고 함
