Uğur Erdener가 새로운 SportAccord 회장으로 선출되었다고 11월13일 외신이 전하였습니다.

세계 양궁(<World Archery)회장인 Prof Dr Uğur Erdener은 SportAccord집행위원회에서 만장일치로 새로운 SportAccord회장으로 임명되었는데, SportAccord는 올림픽 및 비 올림픽 국제연맹들을 대표하는 이해당사자들로 구성된 글로벌 스포츠이벤트통할조직(global sports event organization)입니다.
Prof Dr Uğur Erdener는 2005년이래로 세계양궁연맹회장직을 맡아 왔으며 2008년이래로 튀르키예 IOC위원으로 활동해 왔는데 그는 폭 넓게 존경받는 안과의사(a widely-respected physician/ophthalmologist)로서 IOC의무과학위원회 위원장이며 WADA집행위원과 ITA(International Testing Agency)이사 및 ASOIF부회장이란 직함을 가지고 있고 2011년이래로 튀르키예(Türkiye)NOC위원장이기도 합니다.

SportAccord신임회장으로 향후 4년 간 임기를 수행할Erdener는 11월12일 SportAccord총회에서 확정되어 새롭게 구성된 SportAccord집행위원회 7명의 집행위원의 지지와 성원을 받게 될 것이라고 합니다.
새롭게 구성된 SportAccord집행위원 7명은 다음과 같습니다(알파벳 순):
1)Ingmar De Vos (BEL) – 하계올림픽종목 국제연맹연합회(ASOIF) 대표(representative)
국제승마연맹회장(President, International Equestrian Federation /FEI)
세계 야구 소프트볼 총연맹 회장(President, World Baseball Softball Confederation /WBSC)
8)Stephan Fox (GER) – 독자적 종목연합연맹(AIMS: Alliance of Independent Members of Sports)대표(Representative)
국제무예타이협회 사무총장(Secretary General, International Federation of Muaythai Associations /IFMA)
11월12일 열린 SportAccord총회는 새로운 규약 규정을 인준하였으며 새롭게 출범하는 집행위원회 임원 구성에 반영된 바와 같이 SportAccord는 국제연맹기구 전체가 대표하는 체제에 의해 개정된 지배구조에 따라(according to a revised governance structure whereby all of the IF umbrella bodies will be represented) 운영될 예정이라고 합니다.
새로운 규약 규정에 따르면 가장 조화로운 법인지배구조로 연합하도록(the association into line with best practice corporate governance) 되어 있으며 집행위원회와 총회와 사무국 간의 역할과 책임소재 등을 명확히 구분(clearly defining roles and responsibilities between the Executive Committee, the General Assembly and the Secretariat)한다고 합니다.
새롭게 임명된 Prof Dr Uğur Erdener회장은 “향후 4년간 SportAccord회장으로 선출되도록 자신에게 보여준 동료들의 신뢰를 바탕으로 섬김을 다할 것이며 지난 2년에 걸쳐 SportAccord를 변혁하도록 애쓴 동료인 전임 회장 Ivo Ferriani와 집행위원회 동료들인 Ingmar De Vos와 Franceso Ricii Bitti 와 Luc Tardif에게 모두 감사를 표하는 바임”(I am grateful for the confidence of my colleagues and I am looking forward to serve SportAccord as President over the next four years. I am grateful to my friend Ivo Ferriani for all the work he has done in transforming SportAccord over the last two years and also for the work accomplished by his Executive Commitee colleagues Ingmar De Vos, Francesco Ricci Bitti and Luc Tardif)이라고 언급하였다고 합니다.
국제 봅슬레이 및 스켈레톤 연맹회장(IBSF: International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation)회장 겸 AIOWF회장인 전임 회장 Ivo Ferriani는 “내 임기가 종료되었으므로 봉사의 정신에 입각하여 사명 완수를 다 하고 바톤을 Ugur Erdener 신임회장에게 넘기게 되었는바 이러한 탄탄한 구조를 바탕으로 출발하여 SportAccord와 스포츠 전체가 번영의 길로 나아가게 되도록 내 후임자에게 최고의 축복을 기원하는 바임”(As my term comes to an end, it is with spirit of service and a mission accomplished that I hand over the baton to Uğur Erdener. I offer my successor the very best wishes in building, starting from this solid base, a prosperous future for SportAccord and sport as a whole.)이라고 퇴임사에 갈음하였다고 합니다.
SportAccord 는 최근 “IF포럼2023”을 Lausanne 소재 올림픽박물관내 회의실에서 개최 하였는바 수 백명에 달하는 글로벌 스포츠운동으로부터 스포츠스포츠지도자들과 전문가들과 스포츠 기구 결정권자들이 한데 모여 기탄 없는 의견을 나누었다고 합니다.
“스포츠 개혁[진화]란 주제 하에 IF(International Federations)포럼에서는 팬들의 참여를 다지기 위한 새로운 기술 활용을 포함하는 토픽들(topics including the use of new technology to build fan engagement)에 대하여 의견을 나누었으며 국제연맹자산의 통화 재정 최적화하기(optimize the monetization of IF assets)과와 여성스포츠와 기후 행동 및 국제연맹들의 업무환경 변혁을 개혁하는데 성공한 사례 전략 등을 소개하는 다른 토픽들(the strategies that have succeeded in revolutionizing women’s sport, climate action and other topics that are transforming the environment in which IFs work)도 다루었다고 합니다.
IF포럼에는 2024년 4월7월~11일 영국 Birmingham과 west Midlands에서 개최예정인 “세계 스포츠 및 비즈니스 서밋”(World Sport & Business Summit)이란 주요 이벤트를 개최하는 대표단도 참석하였다고 합니다.
