When the Olympic flame arrives in Incheon today, it will mark the symbolic start of the Olympic winter sport season. (올림픽성화 인천도착은 동계올림픽스포츠 시즌의 상징적 출발점임)

The season will culminate when the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 begin on 9 February 2018. (시즌은 평창2018개막시 최고조로 달아 오를 것임)

In only 100 days from today, the best winter sport athletes from across the globe will come together in PyeongChang for exciting competition, amazing the world with their sporting achievements. (100일만 있으면 전 세계 최고가량의 동계선수들이 지상 최고 경기력 발휘 차 평창에 총 집결하여 세계를 매료시킬 것임)

The countdown to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 began already last week, when the Olympic flame was lit in the Greek city of ancient Olympia, where the first Olympic Games took place 3,000 years ago. (평창2018카운트 다운은 3,000전 열렸던 그리스도시인 고대 올림피아에서 올림픽성화채화가 이루어진 지난 주 이미 시작된 것임)

The lighting ceremony paid tribute to the unique gift of the ancient Greeks to humankind: the Olympic Games. (올림픽성화 채화 식은 고대 그리스인들이 인류에게 올림픽이란 독특한 선물을 봉헌한 것임)

When the flame was lit, we connected this noble heritage to the future. (올림픽성화가 점화되었을 때, 우리는 이러한 숭고한 유산을 미래와 연결시킨 것임)

From the original birthplace of the Olympic Games, the Olympic flame began its 10,000-kilometre journey to the Republic of Korea and PyeongChang. (올림픽발상지로부터 올림픽성화가 한국과 평창까지의 1만 킬로 대 장정이 시작된 바 있음)

Today it arrives in Incheon and the Olympic Torch Relay will bring the excitement for the Games to people across the country. (11월1일 올림픽성화가 인천에 도착하고 올림픽성화봉송을 통하여 한국 전역에 올림픽대회의 설렘과 흥분을 전달할 것임) 

The Olympic Games are of course first and foremost about sports and the athletes. (올림픽대회의 최우선순위는 물론 스포츠와 선수들임)

But the Olympic Games also always carry a greater significance for humankind because in our troubled times, they are the only event that brings the world together in peaceful competition. (하지만 올림픽대회는 우리가 겪고 있는 어려운 시대에 전 세계를 평화로운 스포츠 경기로 인도해 주는 유일한 국제행사이기 때문에 올림픽은 언제나 인류에게 더 중차대한 의미를 각인시켜주고 있는 것이기도 함) 

The Olympic Games are always a symbol of hope and peace. (올림픽대회는 항상 희망과 평화의 상징임)

The Olympic Games are universal. (올림픽은 보편 타당하고 세계만민이 모두 공감하는 대회임)

They stand above and beyond all the differences that divide us. (올림픽은 우리를 갈라놓는 모든 차별과 차이점들을 초월하여 우뚝 서 있음)

In our fragile world that seems to be drifting apart, the Olympic Games have the power to unite humanity in all its diversity. (우리를 뿔뿔이 표류하게 만드는 듯한 취약한 세상에서, 올림픽대회는 다양하고 다채로운 특성의 인류를 결속시켜주는 힘을 가지고 있음)

This is why the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 will be inspiring, opening up new horizons and bringing the Olympic spirit to a new generation. (이러한 이유로 평창2018대회는 새로운 지평을 활짝 열어주고 올림픽 정신을 새로운 세대에 전달해 줌으로써 활력충전의 기운을 북돋아 줄 것임)

This Olympic spirit first came to Korea with the Olympic Games Seoul 1988. (올림픽정신이 한국에 상륙한 것은 1988년 서울올림픽과 함께 였음)

Building on this legacy, PyeongChang will connect the youth of the world to the Olympic Values of excellence, friendship, and respect. (이러한 유산을 토대로 평창은 전 세계 청년들을 탁월함과 우정과 존중이라는 올림픽가치와 하나가 되도록 해 줄 것임)

With 100 days to go until the Olympic Winter Games begin, we can say with confidence that everyone can look forward to an amazing experience. (동계올림픽이 시작되기까지 100일을 앞두고 있는 시점에서, 이제 우리는 누구나가 황홀한 경험을 학수고대할 수 있다고 자신 있게 말할 수 있겠음)

Thanks to the excellent work of the Organising Committee and Korean government, the preparations are on track. (평창조직위원회와 한국정부의 훌륭한 협업덕분에 제반 준비가 정상궤도에서 전진하고 있음)
