London 2012 Olympic medals
London 2012 Olympic medals designed by British artist David Watkins. The Olympic medals disk circular form is a metaphor for the world. The front of the medal always depicts the same imagery at the summer Games - the Greek Goddess of Sport - 'Nike' - stepping out of the depiction of the Parthenon and arriving in London. (2012년 런던올림픽 메달은 David Watkins 영국 예술가가 디자인하였다. 메달의 원형은 세계를 수식하고 메달 앞면은 스포츠를 관장하는 그리스 여신 나이키/Nike가 파르테논 신전을 걸어 나와 런던에 도착하는 형상으로 하계올림픽에는 늘 같은 이미지로 묘사된다/출처: IOC 홈페이지)
