Beijing2022 동계올림픽 및 패럴림픽 준비가 한창입니다.

 

평창2018 대회가 거의 모든 면에서 성공개최평가를 받음으로써 Beijing2022로써는 한국에 뒤지지 않는 동계대회개최를 위하여 각고의 노력경주 중인 것으로 알려지고 있습니다.

 

최근 베이징에서 동계올림픽 및 패럴림픽 조직위원회 회의석상에서는 마스코트와 테스트 이벤트 및 기술활용(technology usage) 등이 Beijing2022조직위원회 지휘부(top brass)가 논의 한 준비사항 내역들 중 일부 내용이었다고 7월5일 자 한 외신이 보도하였습니다.

 

 

 

동 회의는 Beijing2022조직위원장인 Cai Qi가 주재하였는데 대회준비 총괄진척사항에 대하여 점검(sought to provide an overall update on preparations)이 이루어졌다고 합니다

이번 7월 점검회의는 2개월 후인 오는 9월16일~18일 예정된 IOC조정위원회 점검회의에 앞서 핵심 2개월간의 준비를 독려하고자 조직위원회 관계자들이 대비를 시작한 것이라고 볼 수 있겠습니다.

 

Beijing2022홈페이지 웹사이트에 실린 기사내용을 보면 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 마스코트 개발계획이 논의 항목들 중 포함되어 있다고 설명하고 있다고 합니다.

 

2개의 마스코트 공식발표시점은 2020년으로 예정(due to be officially unveiled in 2020)되어 있다고 합니다.

동 웹사이트 설명내용을 보면 다음과 같습니다:.

 

A.  "The meeting pointed out that a series of test events will be held before the 2022 Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympic Games." (회의에서 일련의 테스트이벤트의 2022년 동계올림픽 및 패럴림픽 대회 전에 열릴 것임을 적시하고 있음)

 

B.  "It is important for effectively testing the venue facilities, exercising the running team, understanding the rules of running the race, running the working mechanism, implementing the territorial guarantee, and testing the operational command. (경기장 시설테스트, 운영 팀들의 연습, 경기운영 규칙숙지, 업무 메커니즘 운영, 영역별 보장방법 실행, 운영지휘 테스트 등을 효과적으로 시행하는 것이 중요함)

 

C.  "It is necessary to rely on the national single sports association, the international single sports federation, and the local Government of the event venue to treat the test match with the attitude of the official Olympic Games, and conscientiously prepare for the organisation and operation." (테스트 경기를 공식올림픽대회를 치르는 자세를 가지고 다루기 위하여 각각의 국내 스포츠협회, 각각의 국제스포츠연맹 이벤트 베뉴가 위치한 지방정부에 의존하는 것과 양심적으로 조직 및 운영하는 것이 필요함)

 

 

현대기술과 환경친화, 공유, 공개, 청결한 접근방식을 활용하는 것 역시 최우선 과제로 강조되고 있다(also emphasised as priorities)고 합니다

 

 

이러한 것들은 크게 보면 바람직인 표현으로 보이긴 하지만, 실제로 적용사례로는 미흡해 보이는데 왜냐하면 대회자체는 새로운 경기장과 인공 눈에 어떻게 의존하게 될 지가 변수이기 때문이라는 분석입니다. (This is largely seen as good rhetoric but less the case in practice, however, due to how the Games will rely on new venues and artificial snow.)

 

Beijing 2022동계올림픽은 2022년 2월4일~20일(17일간), 동계 패럴림픽은 3월4일~13일(10일간) 열릴 예정입니다.
