6월2일자 한 외신기사제목은 “인도네시아가 2032년 올림픽개최를 원한다고 자카르타-팔레방 2018년 아시안게임조직위원장 주장하다”(Indonesia wants to host 2032 Olympic Games, Jakarta Palembang 2018 President claims)였습니다.

Erick Thohir 2018년 아시안게임조직위원장에 따르면 인도네시아가 2032년 올림픽유치가 가능할 것으로 목표를 세우고 있다(Indonesia is targeting a possible bid for the 2032 Olympic Games)고 합니다.

 

 

Thohir조직위원장은 오는 9월2일 아시안게임폐회식참석차 Thomas Bach IOC위원장이 자카르타를 방문하는 시점에 인도네시아가 14년 후 2032년올림픽개최제안할 기회를 갖게 될 것이라고 언급하였다고 합니다.

 

 

 

 

 

이태리 Serie 'A' club Inter Milan축구클럽구단주이며 인도네시아 상위급 기업인(a high-profile Indonesian businessman) 출신Jakarta Palembang 2018 아시안게임조직위원장은 2032년 올림픽에 관한 한 인도네시아가 아시아에서 가장 현실적으로 실행 가능한 후보(the most viable Asian candidate for the 2032 Games)가 될 것이라고 주장하였다고 합니다.

 

 

다음은 Thohir조직위원장이 CNN Indonesia와의 인터뷰 발언내용입니다:

 

 

A.  "The possibility of our competitors is only African and Asian countries, and Asia does not have China, Japan or South Korea, only India." (인도네시아의 경쟁후보로는 아프리카와 아시아국가들뿐인데 아시아의 경우 중국, 일본과 한국은 아니고 오직 인도 뿐임)

 

B.  "This is the first time the IOC President has come to the close of the Asian Games, he will stay three days in Indonesia. (IOC위원장이 아시안게임 폐회식에 참석하는 것은 이번이 처음이며 인도네시아에 3일 간 체류예정임)

Thohir조직위원장은 Bach IOC위원장이 아시안게임 개회식보다는 폐회식참관을 선택함으로써 아시안게임의 성공개최를 볼 수 있을 것(so he could see the "success" of the Asian Games)이라고 주장하였다고 합니다.

인도네시아는 오는 8월18일~9월2일 자카르타-팔렘방 두 개 도시에서 열리는 메가 스포츠 이벤트기간 동안 개최역량을 과시하기를 희망할 것(will hope to showcase its hosting credentials during the multi-sport event )이라고 합니다.

 

 

인도의 경우 인도올림픽위원회 Narinder Batra위원장이 2026년 청소년올림픽(YOG)과 2030년 아시안게임과 더불어 2032년 올림픽유치의사를 언급한 후 2032년 올림픽개최에 진지한 관심표명(expressed a serious interest in staging the 2032 Olympics)을 해 오고 있다고 합니다.

 

 

인도의 Mumbai가 잠재적 인도 청소년올림픽개최후보로 떠오르고 있다(emerged as a potential Indian Youth and Summer Olympic Games candidate )고 합니다.

 

하지만 Bach IOC위원장은 2032년 올림픽에 관한 논의는 유치과정이 채 시작도 되기 전이므로 아직 시기상조(discussions on 2032 were premature as the bidding process has not started yet)라고 경고한 바 있는 것으로 알려지고 있습니다

 

 

2032년 올림픽후보로는 호주도 또 다른 후보가 될 수 있는 바 Gold Coast가 2018년 영연방대회(Commonwealth Games)를 지난 4월 개최 한 후 Queensland가 유치타당성을 저울질 하고 있는(pondering the feasibility of a bid)것으로 알려지고 있습니다.

 

 

인도네시아는 지금까지 어떠한 올림픽대회나 이벤트를 개최한 적이 없다고 합니다(Indonesia has never hosted any Olympic event.)
