[중국 스포츠외교 IOC본부소재 Lausanne에 NOC사무소 개소 의미와 배경 스케치]

 

 

  중국올림픽위원회(COC: Chinese Olympic Committee)의 새로운 사무소가 스위스 Lausanne에 공식 개소하였다고 12월8일 자 외신이 전했습니다

IOC본부가 위치한 스위스 Lausanne에 COC가 새로운 소재지를 정한 것은 Beijing2022동계올림픽 및 패럴림픽 개최국으로서 적극적인 대 IOC협력 핵심포석으로 보인다(seen as key with the country hosting the Beijing 2022 Winter Games)고 외신은 전하고 있습니다.

 

 

Thomas Bach IOC위원장은 COC위원장인 Gou Zhongwen과 함께 COC Lausanne사무소 개소 식에 참석하였다(in attendance at the inauguration ceremony alongside COC counterpart Gou Zhongwen)고 합니다.

 

 

이 자리에는 Zaiqing Yu IOC부위원장 및 COC부위원장 직을 맡고 있는 Li Lingwei 등 중국 IOC위원 세 명 중 두 명의 IOC위원들도 함께 참석하였다고 합니다.

 

 

올림픽 수도(the Olympic capital)로 알려진 Lausanne에는 40여 개의 국제연맹 및 스포츠기구들이 소재(home to more than 40 International Federations and sporting organisations)하고 있지만, 외국 단체 그리고 향후 대회 올림픽조직위원회가 둥지를 트는 경우는 희소한 것(a foreign country and future Games organiser setting up a base there is thought to be rare)으로 평가되고 있다고 합니다.

 

 

중국올림픽위원회(COC)는 새롭게 오픈 한 사무소들이 IOC 및 Lausanne소재 기존 국제연맹기구들과의 연결고리를 더욱 밀접하게 형성하도록 만들어 주는 기반이 되리라 희망하고 있다(hoping their new offices will allow them to build closer links with both the IOC and the bodies already in the city)고 합니다

다음은 Guo Zhongwen COC위원장의 발언내용입니다:

 

A.  "The setting-up of this office will strengthen the close relationship with the IOC and lead to better cooperation with the locally based International Federations, helping Chinese sport to grow internationally." (사무소 개소를 통해 IOC와의 밀접한 관계를 확충하고 Lausanne지역에 기반을 둔 국제연맹등과 더 나은 협력관계로 나아감으로써 중국스포츠가 국제적으로도 일취월장하는데 도움이 될 것임)

 

 

COC지역사무소 개소(開所)에 앞서(before the inauguration), Beijing2022준비와 관련하여 IOC본부에서 논의가 진행되었다고 합니다

 

 

Bach IOC위원장은 Beijing2022건설현황이 Beijing2008올림픽 경기장들을 사용하면서 사후 경기장 유산계획과 함께 일정보다 앞서 진척되고 있다(construction was "ahead of schedule" with legacy plans in place to use venues from the Beijing 2008 Summer Games)라는 소식을 들었다고 합니다.

 

 

Beijing은 올림픽 사상 동 하계올림픽이 모두 개최되는 첫 도시가 될 것(the first city to stage both the Summer and Winter editions of the Olympics)으로 알려졌습니다.

 

 

다음은 Bach IOC위원장의 발언내용입니다:

 

A.  "The preparations for the Olympic Winter Games will be even more smooth <smoother>with the opening of these offices." (동계올림픽준비는 이곳 사무소 개소와 함께 훨씬 더 순탄하게 진행될 것임)

 

B.  "You have created the opportunity to speak directly and daily with the IOC and the many International Federations based here." (여러분은 IOC및 이곳에 기반을 둔 많은 국제연맹들과의 직접적이고 매일 소통할 수 있는 기회를 창출한 것임)
