2)   LA가 7월31일부로 2028년 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 개최권을 가지기로 합의함으로써 Paris는 2024년 올림픽개최권을 차지하게 될 것임을 의미한다고 보도된 바 있음

3)   IOC의 개최도시2028 계약조건(the terms of the Host City Contract 2028)하에 IOC는 개최도시에서 대회개최 시까지의 장구한 기간 동안의 장기기획과 참가증대 및 청소년 스포츠 프로그램 접속지원을 고려하여(in view of the longer planning period and increase participation and access to youth sports programmes in the city in the years leading up to the Games) LA2028조직위원회에 필요기금(US$ 18억 불/약 2조원)을 선불할 것(will advance funds to LA Organizing Committee)으로 알려지고 있음

In line with Olympic Agenda 2020, the IOC is pleased to release today the Host City Contract 2028 following the declaration of candidature by the Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Candidature Committee for the Olympic Games 2028. 6)   IOC가 선불하기로 한 기여금 총액은 US$18억불(약 2조원)이며 LA유치위원회에 따르면 갱신될 기존 스폰서 협약의 예상가치(the estimated value of existing sponsor agreements to be renewed)와 새로운 마케팅 협상 잠재력(potential new marketing delas)을 고려할 때 US$20억불(약 2조 2,300억원)을 초과할 수 있는 잠재적 가능성을 가지고 있음을 시사하였다고 함

7)   LA는 또한 기타 다른 지불 금 면제혜택도 받을 것(exempt from other payments)이며, IOC 마케팅 영역에 포함되지 않는 카테고리 중에서 미국 국내 스폰서 권리 판매 선택옵션도 보유할 것(retain the option of selling domestic sponsorship in categories not covered by the IOC)으로 알려지고 있음

8)   LA는 추가로 모든 잉여수익도 모두 챙길 수 있도록 허용될 것(allowed to keep all surplus profit that they make)이라고 함

9)   7월31일 자 LA유치도시 성명서에 따르면, Donald Trump미국대통령이 LA올림픽유치가 진정한 미국식 올림픽유치(a truly American bid)가 되도록 ‘개인적 관여’(personally involved)로 지원하여 온 것으로 알려짐

10) 협상세부내역(more details of the deal)은 이날 오후 Garcetti LA시장과 LA2024유치위원장인 Casey Wasserman이 동석하는 기자회견에서 발표될 것으로 예상된 바 있음

11) LA가 올림픽 및 패럴림픽 대회 개최 전에 청소년스포츠기금확보(get access to youth sport funding)를 이룩한 것을 발표하게 된 것은 Eric Garcetti LA시장의 주요 쾌거(a major coup)로 인정되고 있음

4.   Paris2024-LA2028 올림픽개최권 동시부여의 역사적 의의

17)  2024-2028콤비네이션 올림픽개최는 LA와 Paris모두 올림픽대회(sport’s showpiece event)를 3번씩이나 개최한다는 것은 기념비적인 것임

18) 파리는 1900년 및 1924년, LA는 1932년 및 1984년 각각 두 차례씩 올림픽을 개최한 바 있음

19) 특히 Paris2024의 경우 1924년 대회 개최 후 100주년(the centenary of the last time they were staged in the city)이 되는 해에 다시 올림픽을 개최하게 되어 중대성을 부각시켜 줄 것임(will have added significance)

20) 7월 11일~12일 로잔느에서 열린 바 있는 제130차 IOC임시총회에서 IOC와 향후 대회개최 두 개 도시들로 구성된 3자위원회(a Tripartite Commission)가 결성되어 협의키로 합의된 바 있었음
